Hello Forum members!

So, I have a problem regarding my new GTX Titan Black.

Earlier I had to RMA my 2x GTX 580's and it turns out that one of them was indeed broken somehow. Well, I got compensated for it and tought I'd get myself a Titan.

Now yesterday I tried installing the card and booted up the PC. For some reason that I can't figure out it get's stuck in the BIOS splash screen for about 2 minutes and after that the screen goes black with an underscore on the top left corner of the monitor. It also flashes between slight grey and black while it's in this state.

My system specs:

PSU - Silverstone 1200W Strider
GPU - (Current) GTX 580 TGT
CPU - Intel Core i7 2700K
RAM - Corsair Vengeance 1600 MHz 16Gb
Storage - Corsair 60 GB ssd
MoBo - Asus Sabertooth p67 REV 3
Sound Card - Asus STX Xonar Essence

Here's the fun part. I looked around for a solution and someone said to flash the BIOS to a newer verison. Problem is that my BIOS is already up to date. Currently I have the 3602 version which I updated some time ago.

I have also verified that the problem isn't caused by anything other than the GPU.

The PC booted up normally with a 260GTX and a 580GTX card but as soon as I fire up the Titan it get's stuck in the splash screen and then the blinking black screen. I have no idea of what to try next since my BIOS is already up to date.

Any help / advice is welcome!

Thank you for your reply in advance - Chrysalis

PS: If you need further information about my system or anything else that is relevant to the case, just ask and I'll do my best to reply as quickly as I can.

Small update. Tried resetting BIOS to factory settings. Didn't make a difference. Still stuck at splash screen.

Also, I tought it might be worth it to try and restart CMOS, but somehow I don't think it will make a difference. Also, it's quite a chore with the p67 MoBo so I'd like some reassurance that it will have some effect before doing it.

Perhaps you have a boot issue with the UEFI bios on the Titan?

In the sabertooth bios, under advanced mode, boot, do you have it on legacy or Efi compatible rom?

This maybe somewhat inappropriate since we just had our first date, but.... I LOVE YOU!

No but seriously, thanks a ton! Your solution worked like a dream.

Much appreciated!
