hello

I dont really want to go with headache of building my own HTPC. so I would rather pay more and get a ready one.

what would be the best HTPC TOP QUALITY in video audio and case design and also not noisy and have latest connectivity features ?

my budget is open and I care about quality very much.

thanks for the reply

assassinhtpc looks promising but there are so many types ! which one is the best to give me best video/audio quality for my home cinema ?

and in the video it says it has 4K capability is it true ?

Assassin is an interesting company I had never heard of. I am also wondering if Assassin HTPC Media Extenders could function well as an alternative to Lenovo's "tiny" ThinkCentre lineup. I don't completely understand the Assassin product line yet.

The audo/video quality doesnt really take much in the way of hardware to get good qaulity.

Your audio would go out HDMI as bitsrteam to your receiver anmd the decoding gets handled there. your source encoding would be more important than the hardware in the PC.

If you want high end video its more the software than the hardware. A decent video card and processor can give you some great results, Using/configuring LAV, FFDSHOW, MADVR, SVP would be more important. the 4k capabality means the video card can process and output 4k video but you still need the 4k source and display

Assassian has some great guides on his blog that can help explain a lot about the component choices you would want. http://www.assassinhtpcblog.com/

If I was to buy one from there instead of building my own I would lean toward one of the performance series with a video card. If you want big picture gaming get a more powerful card.

I dont really know anything about their media extender

Kind of surprised nobody's suggested an intel NUC yet. Namely, one of the newer ones that'll take a 2.5" drive.

The little Intel all in ones are great if all your using it for is a htpc for play back of media stored some where else.
