I having trouble with this installer. When it gets to the control panel installer it throws up a permissions request, once I approve that it throws a C++ runtime error.

Never seen an nvidia install package do this before. So far I've used DDU to clean things out and tried a fresh reinstall, still does the same issue.

I did a system file scan check from command line and it found no corrupted files. Any other ideas to try?

Running Windows 7 64bit Ultimate edition. Everything's up to date and patched.

Thanks for the help.

That's an odd one I just installed 334.89 this morning without any issues, have you tried installing it through safe mode (If thats even possible).

Just to verify this is how its showing up size wise for me:
334.89-desktop-win8-win7-winvista-64bit-english-whql.exe
221 MB (232,660,160 bytes)
221 MB (232,660,992 bytes) - (Size on disk)

Tried installing in safe mode and it does the same thing. It's basically hanging up on the control panels installer setup file from what I can tell.

Yes, try installing the new 335.23 drivers and see if you get the same issues. You say everything is up-to-date and patched, but you may need to download and install the latest updates for the 2008, 2010, and 2012 C++ redistributables which are not offered through Windows Update as far as I'm aware.

Yep, exact same issues with 335.23. This ones stumping me. I've now tried uninstalling all the redistributable and slowly adding them back. I have 2012 thru 2008 and still getting the same issue,

I'm sure it's not that, because it has been working most of the year in that slot. Although it's worth a try to see.

Hey OP, ever found a solution for this? I have exactly the same problem with exactly the same symptoms as you. I also tried all the things you described. It's driving me nuts.

First post and he bumps a 8 month old thread..............

344.75 drivers are now out. That 334.89 old driver and all the issues has been fixed with the newer releases.

I'm having exactly the same problem with the latest version, 344.75. And Google learns me there are many people with runtime errors and Geforce drivers, allthough the root causes differ.

Did you click custom install and selected "clean install" when installing the nvidia drivers? If not then you can also try DDU and boot into safe mode and remove all NVidia files at once. You really didn't give any information on what you tried, so I'm just guessing here.

Latest DDU
