Attached are components in my preliminary PC build:

Intel Core i7-3770 Ivy Bridge 3.4GHz (3.9GHz Turbo) LGA 1155 77W Quad-Core Desktop Processor Intel HD Graphics 4000 BX80637I73770

G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 8GB 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10666) Desktop Memory Model F3-10666CL9S-8GBXL

Supermicro X9SAE-V Desktop Motherboard - Intel C216 Chipset - Socket H2 LGA-1155 - Retail Pack

Western Digital WD VelociRaptor WD5000HHTZ 500GB 10000 RPM 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive Bare Drive - OEM

I have attached a monitor via a HDMI cable to the new build. The monitor works on other PC's. When I power up the PC, I hear what I believe are 3 quick beeps and there it sits with a blank black screen. The manual I downloaded from the SuperMicro site does not list a trouble code for this number of beeps.

My 1st assumption; there is a jumper somewhere which is not set correctly and it's configured so as to disable the on board graphics capability. Looking at the provided Quick Reference Guide & going through the manual, it's not really obvious which jumper to look at to determine if this is the cause.

This forum seems to have more users of SuperMicro boards than most so I thought I would post this question here to see if I could get a really quick answer. Also have the same question in to SuperMicro. They probably don't work on the weekends and they are 4 hours behind me in time so it might be mid-day tomorrow at best before I receive a response. I need to get into the BIOS to set the 1st boot device to a USB device so I can run some component diagnostics prior to completing the build and loading the OS.

This is my 3rd or 4th build using SuperMicro boards & cases, the last one being a few years ago (everybody wants cheap stuff now). I remember the documentation being provided back then as complete with manuals and a CD with drivers on it for RAID configurations. Now you have to go on line and get the stuff. That seems to be the way all manufacturers are going these days. They claim to be 'green' and are saving trees.

Any help in figuring this out would be appreciated.

Thank you.

PS
In researching this issue at the Intel site, it appears Intel has a problem with processors with the HD Graphics 4000 Core. It's worth a read as they seem to be looking for PC's which are experiencing an unexpected black screen when the PC was otherwise running just fine.

Support at SuperMicro responded to my inquiry around mid day today. While the motherboard will function with the CPU I initially installed, I missed the part about which series of processors will work so the onboard graphics are enabled. This is the processor I will now be using:
Intel Xeon E3-1275 V2 Ivy Bridge 3.5GHz (3.9GHz Turbo) LGA 1155 77W Quad-Core Server Processor BX80637E31275V2
I have no one to blame except myself for not doing a little more research when I selected the processor to install on the motherboard.

Thanks for the update. I have always had a fantastic experience with SuperMicro.
