I got project ENB for skyrim and it does make the graphics a lot better. Sometimes the graphics will go from 60 fps to like 1 fps when looking in specific directions - doesn't seem to be a rhyme or reason to it. If i save and reboot the same it will work fine for like 30 mins. Is there a simple solution to this?

Judging from your OP, I'm guessing this isn't occurring while entering an exterior cell?

Not sure what this means, but it only happens outdoors when looking in particular directions randomly. Never happens indoors.

Could be another mod causing the issue? Try unchecking a mod one by one in data files until it stops.

Yeah I have had this problem before too.

I never found a solution but my best guess would be that ENB is causing the game or our videocards to render more than they should , bogging down our systems.

Sometimes it could also be the game engine messing up. I really noticed this in GTA 4 with the IceHancer mods. My GPU usage would be fine, and then randomly drop like a tank causing shit FPS and would often stay at low usage. Check your CPU and GPU usage when playing maybe? (Also VRAM)

If an LOD is installed then that could cause the issue depending upon the ENB and loaded preset.

OP - when looking in a certain direction at various places on the map and experiencing low framerate issues, is there a common denominator in direction you are looking (tree cluster, mountain, etc.)?

Hmm that is odd. Have you checked on the ENB forums? If you are on skyrim nexus, lookup ini tweaks and realvision ENB performance edition. Working great for me.
