vSphere console question

Hi gang,
I have an odd issue. When im trying to access the console window of a vm in vSphere i cant access it under the console tab. It just shows up as a black box. However if i use a popup/popout console window i can access it just fine. Now, if i go back to the console tab i can interact with the vm again. Anyone have any ideas as to why i must popout the console window before i can gain control from the console tab?

What happens when you click in the console and hit enter..etc?
 
I have this same issue, and I've not been able to figure out a fix for it yet.

Usually if I disconnect then reconnect it will work normal again. We have a few different VM servers with Vsphere, and only one does this, the rest work fine no matter how long they've been up.
 
Sometimes the sync command to "wake up" the guest console doesn't make it from there. When you pop it out, it also sends some resolution details (for certain operations you may want to do later on) which always wakes it up.
 
I only noticed this that some tabs wouldn't load when I installed new version of IE. I ended up modifying compatibility settings and added my hosts. (This was for another tab for my san)

Twice in a row you answered something I was wondering. I've seen this 100 times..always figured it was something like that.
