SSD: Crucial M4 128GB $80, PNY XLR8 Pro 240GB $140 AR

Anyone have experience with PNY? Reviews are mixed, wanting a 240gb+ for under 150$ before the year ends.

I got the normal XLR8 in my rig (not sure if it's the older edition or not) from Frys. I didn't really benchmark the speeds, but it's been working just fine for probably well over 6-7 months now. I'm fine with it.

Tbh nowdays I'd probably hold out for an Evo though, they're prolly much faster in most ways. You can get one right now for like 33 bucks more.

The write speed on the M4 is a bit dated. Still a good drive but the read/write IOPS on the V300 are nearly double.

I have the non pro version of the PNY. Compared to my OCZ vertex 2, it hangs in very large folders and is slow. if not for the storage size and my desperate need for space, I'd have returned it...

Of course it could just be a lousy clone.
