I'm running 2 HD7970's and whenever i launch windows live mail to... well... check my mail my secondary gpu will spring into action and place itself at 99% usage.

No clue as to why... I don't even know when it started, I do know it's something pretty recent.

Not really an issue but I have to close my mail client now every time i start playing a gpu intensive game because it does eat up all the performance of that secondary card. Somehow.

I don't think there's a "hardware acceleration" setting in windows live mail so I'm asking you guys: familiar issue?

I don't think there's a "hardware acceleration" setting in windows live mail

But there is one in the browser, or if you are using aero or whatever crap windows 8 uses to animate windows. Turn it off and problem solved...

I've seen flash mentioned. If there are ads, and flash has hardware acceleration.

well, i agree but my windows live mail client isn't running in the browser. And even if i'm running chrome it's
1.my primary gpu that ramps up and
2. it only goes up to 2D clocks.

The issue I'm having here is my secondary gpu clocking all the way up to 3D clocks at 99% gpu usage.

launch windows live mail
secondary gpu clocks up to full 3D clocks
gpu usage goes up to 99%

close windows live mail and they immediately shut down (zero core mode).

Is it doing this in games/benchmarks too? My second card was running up to 100% when I ran an app, then staying there. I think it's something with the new driver. Disabling ULPS fixed it.

@raap i've never done anything with btc or ltc. And i would find it odd that a program, made by ms, would contain malware of that kind.

@fooshnik: hmmm, makes sense that it would be driver related. perhaps i'll get those new beta drivers, see how that goes.
