So my mother finally sold her house and asked me if I wanted the five boxes that were in her attic when I moved out 20 years ago. I told to send them to me when she could. So I received them on Friday and opened them up today. Just a bunch of comic books and other personal items.

I opened up the last box and to my surprise was my first generation Sega Genesis with a bunch of my old games. I was really giddy about this. It actually worked, because the damn thing has been boxed for 20 years!!!! So I hooked it up to my 42 inch HDTV. Of course the picture looks like crap on the new generation of TV's. Is there any devices that would up convert the video to 720p to at least clear it up a bit?

I appreciate any information you could provide.

Not really sure which one of them is the best or anything but I looked up your issue and found SCART to HDMI converters which is what you need to transfer the SCART cable from the Sega Genesis, the original cables, to the SCART to HDMI converter box. Did a search on Amazon, of course you could use any store: http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_n...ywords=scart+to+hdmi&rh=i:aps,k:scart+to+hdmi

This guy shows the difference on this thread and on that thread are images on what box he is using: http://forum.teamxbox.com/showthread.php?t=638033

Good luck, and congrats on finding that rare console still working.

You second link states PAL to NTSC convertor. I don't think that is what the OP needs.

Damn! That looks nice! More of the SCART giving a good source than anything, but still! I wish we had SCART here in the US (no way in hell am I importing a European CRT just to enjoy these games the way they were meant to).

Just use a converter to use it with an HDMI TV. By the way, if you look at the team xbox link, you should note that he is comparing RF (which is worse than composite) with scart - although his scart cables aren't apparently full RGB and is basically s-video at that point.
