Flash on Android devices

I recently bought a Sony Xperia Z tablet, it's a great device, I'd highly recommend it, but one of my most used websites (www.beatport.com) is a no go due to the lack of flash support on Android. For that matter it doesn't work on my S4 either.

I've followed the directions for installing archived versions of Flash, and several browsers including Boat Browser which is supposed to still support flash, but no luck in previewing tracks.

I've searched the web for solutions but I'm not having much luck. I'm hoping somebody at the [H] can help me.

Is there anyway to make this happen or am I just out of luck?

Which browsers are you using? I remember hearing that some OEM browsers kept Flash going.

That said, I wouldn't count on it. When Adobe has officially ended Flash support and largely agrees that it's not the right solution, it may be more effective to ask Beatport for HTML5 support (if possible) than try for a very unofficial Flash installation.

The only browser that I've been able to use consistently with flash is Firefox.

I have been able to get working flash in android 4.2 but that is with aa rooted device and a custom Rom, you can try xda the folks over there may be able to help.

Side load last most up to date flash download dolphin browser in its settings enable flash and your good to go root is not needed

Just did this on my new nexus 7 2013 model with android 4.3

Yep, I do the same thing to the stock browser on the Note 2.

Use a browser called Puffin. It supports built in flash and works well. And the browser is awesome to use as well.

Not necessarily Android, but there are a few web browsers for iOS that will convert Flash content over to HTML5 in real time, so it makes watching video and using basic flash enabled websites possible. It works pretty well too.

I can't imagine that these dont exist for Android as well, especially since Adobe has ended support for the platform.

Actually as far as I was aware they had actually started up development again.

I've tried Boat, Firefox, Chrome (I know it doesn't support Flash at all), and the included Samsung browser on my S4 with no luck at all. The Samsung browser used to work with limited success on my S2. I'll try Puffin.

In the mean time I'd be interested to know if any of you that have had success with flash can actually use the site I am most concerned with: www.beatport.com Can you preview tracks and continue to browse other music? Does it work at all smoothly?

Side loading flash should work perfectly with the samsung browser, make sure you have the correct download and have the settings done correctly.

Works, not really. It does work a little better with a pc.

I did notice there was an app at Google Play that might be an option if this is the only site you are worried about.

Not sure why but the site works for me using Firefox on my S4 & Note II...IDK
It works but not real smooth same-thing when using flash with weather sites....But it does work.
Same-thing with Dolphin Flash works.

I just tested that site using Dolphin browser HD with Dolphin Jetpack and it worked fine (Galaxy S3.) Not sure what issues you are having though.

Thank you all for taking the time to reply.

I had some trouble, tried everything I could with Firefox and Boat to no avail. Site would load up nicely, (quickly on Boat, a little slow on ff) but when I tried to play a track, either nothing happened or it brought up a full screen media player dealy, and even that didn't seem to work. This is on my Xperia Z Tablet, haven't given it much of a go yet on my S4, that said the stock browser on that didn't want to work for me.

This. THIS! =] It loads extremely quickly, like almost desktop quick, and works very well, only a slight bit of stuttering with the music streaming if I have a lot going on, otherwise it's a very smooth experience.

This browser just plain rocks. It even has a an option where you can designate part of the screen as a trackpad which is just great for sites like this one that were never designed with touch in mind. Even without the trackpad touch interface is difference in, in a good way; a more mouse like experience.

I highly recommend checking this browser out if you haven't already, especially if you want to browse sites with Flash content.

Thanks again!

Glad it worked for you. I have used it for quite awhile. Very very good. And it gets a lot of updates, so no issues there..

I use a browser called Photon, it renders flash websites on the cloud. I have never had issues with it.

The website worked fine for me on my android transformer tab running cromix, the android version is 4.2 flash sideloaded during Rom install and I played music via the stock browser. I do know that for dolphin browser I had to edit a settings file for it to play flash, if you search xda forums you can find exactly what you need to edit.
