Is the noise in this PSU normal? It is really annoying and loud when I open up games, but other then gaming, it is quiet. I just recently purchased this PSU a week and a half ago.

Yeah that doesn't sound good at all. I have been using the same psu for a little over a year now in my current rig and its dead silent when its under any type of load.

Well I did a refund through newegg and bought an AX860i. So far I am extremely happy with it, no coil whine or any kind of noise!
