This is a clearance so how many they have I don't know.

I'm surprised it's still in stock.
This was posted on Slickdeals yesterday and the thread almost has 20,000 views.

Thanks. Going to bust open the case and jack it for a storage drive in my PC.

Thanks for the heads up; snagged one. I needed one as a quick rsync target to backup my vital storage bits in a second location (pictures, documents, etc).

OOS now.

Thanks OP

Grabbed one earlier. Been in "Processing" forever. Hope it doesn't get cancelled.

Appeared to be in stock for me just now, and it let me place an order.

"Congrats! Your order is complete.
In a few moments, you will receive a confirmation email with the details of your order. Your confirmation number is

I didn't really have the money to spend on this, but at the price I couldn't resist and I can write it off on next year's income tax. I'll be using it as storage for my Youtube videos. :D

so, you are publicly claiming tax fraud?

Awesome deal though. and the price should regularly be at this level. Unless they are still claiming typhoon issues.

No.

Youtube videos (and the Google Adsense revenue generated from them and a few other websites) generate income as part of my business. The drive will be added to a growing pool that I use to archive raw video ... with secondary copies being stored in another location on BD-R discs.

Being that the drive will be used exclusively for the business purpose noted above, I am allowed to claim it as an expense when I file my taxes.

Not like I cared, just thought it would be a bad idea if you meant what you said. The smiley face made it seem like a sarcastic remark.

Lol. Owned by logic. My wife depreciates her car and writes off her office equipment.

Hate I missed out on this I have 55 on a gift card with nothing to spend it on.. Crap crap crap all sold out now..

Back in stock. It's been going in and out all morning so just keep an eye on it. I was able to get one after it disappearing from my cart earlier this morning.

This be true, just got my order placed :D. Came out to $70 total.

How noisy are these things? This is going in the man cave where the loudest component is the Intel NUC (Core I3 dual HDMI ver), which you can't hear unless you put your ear within a foot of the unit. I'd like to replace the shitty 2.5 inch external drive I'm using for DVR caching duties with this.

I got in on this this morning 8:21am (central). 66.13$ .
just check in the nxt morning

Just keep checking, it comes in and out of stock on a regular basis.

Woohoo it shipped! Thanks for the deal, OP! :)

I have the 3TB version of this on my desk and it has been great so far. Can't hear it all if anyone is concerned about it making noises.

That's surprising to me, almost every Seagate I've ever seen has been noisy as heck... especially seek noise. (not that that bothers me in the slightest)

Good to know this one will be quiet though.

I'm actually second guessing my earlier decision to use this for business purposes and am now thinking about connecting it to our Dish Network Hopper for additional DVR storage.

Still says "Processing" for mine. Patience...

I bought this for a relative who is going to use it for backing up business data but quiet is a nice thing to have either way.

I got my email. it is shipped.
Since it is desktop drive I will use it to share all my music/pictures over my dlink655. Then Family can use them for their ipods and school work.

I have a quite a few Seagates and regardless of the model they all make some sort of noise that I can hear from across my basement. Although they are not the USB case enclosed types. In any event, I'm not in desperate need of HDD so I'll pass on this. GL to everyone else.

Maybe it is because I'm using it purely as storage and not accessing it enough to notice as I would if using it as an internal. I have 3TB right in front of me and it is quite. I even just started a movie to hear seek noise and it was very minor, maybe a second and that was it.

Well smack my ass and call me Sally... I just bought another one. :D

I have no idea why I want this. I think I have a storage addiction. I have 9x1.5TB sitting in a server at home waiting to be used, and I have another 2x1.5TB externals, 1x3TB external and 1x1TB external at home currently in use.

So far, I'm resisting. Having a $25 BB gift card in my pocket isn't helping.

glad i bookmarked that page. just happen to click on the wrong bookmark and saw it was in stock!
