Officially official as of 18th April '13. Links and details updated to Lian Li's own website:

PC-Q27 = 300 × 200 × 240 mm = 14.4 l
PC-Q28 = 305 × 227 × 345 mm = 23.9 l

They have been designing this case since at leat end of last year.
Lian Li Expo Dec 2012
Lian Li also asked for input on some other forums and they have changed the USB ports. The case looks much cleaner now. The problem is that Q27 doesnt have second PCI slot. Other then that the cases look really good.

I think those dimensions are of the retail box. The dimensions of the cases (from above link):

PC-Q27: 200 x 300 x 240mm
PC-Q28: 227 x 350 x 345mm

I think you're right Necere, corrected the first post to reflect the dimensions reported by TechPowerUp.

Lian Li announced these now, full specs and details on their website: PC-Q27 & PC-Q28

White Q28 and black Q27 in a store in Asia.

Nice to see them available, although the last time white was a special colour the price was near double the silver/black, and it was painted not anodised.

I think I saw PC-Q02 orange and blue editions shown somewhere, been a while since Lian Li had a range of colour choices, I wonder if they will resurrect the red, gold and gunmetal grey somewhere in the range

Yes, the price is high but you gotta say... It looks nice. I never took one. Is the painted white case aluminium any worse close up?
I cant comprehend the omitment of the double PCI on Q27. With all thats been going on in Q07 thread... Also I ran the thread on the chinese forum thru translator and there was word TORX? I couldnt make the context. Yes, most definetly philips replaced with Torx.

TORX is good thing! These days TX bits are readily available for pennies.

Phillips head is archaic and crap, and Pozi drive is almost as annoying, both are designed to cam out easily iirc the original cross head with cam out concept was intended to stop the ham fisted apes in factories destroying the aircraft parts they were assembling. Now we have electric screwdrivers with torque clutches to prevent over tightening, the TX system doesn't cam out easily and manufacture using this system is much faster (cheaper products for all of us)

IanM,
and then from your link it shows features of new cases... the panels just slide up to open, so the cases are updated with tool less panels. Q27 has hard drive mount in the 5,25 bay. I Wonder how would it work inverted... The VGA in the specification listed up to 195 mm. Everybody is going to try and put the biggest possible With the ventilation on the bottom.
I Wonder why Q28 has so clean back. No ventilation out back just up?

Maybe the lack of vent on the rear of Q28 is a cost saving? it does look a little strange when compared with Q27.

what would be inverted? the HDD?

Yes, inverted HDD to use it and put 5,25 device in the bay. Now that i think about it, wouldnt work, because the rubber screws holding hdd portrude in the 5,25 bay. Still there are some options for this case.

I'm not sure I see any problem, I think you can put the HDD whichever way up you like using a bay adapter

Just make sure to choose the adapter that best fits the 5.25". I had one ages ago that was for screw fit 5.25" bays and it wasn't a perfect fit for a tool-less bay, it worked but the tool-less mechanism didn't hold it perfectly (it was OK because it was possible to fix with screws form the opposite side)

After having witnessed the Ncase M1's clever design where you don't NEED to have your PSU directly above your CPU to get a small case, I look at these cases and get the feeling they are outclassed.

I like the price they have, though, but it still isn't an argument to have that huge hunk of PSU floating a few inches above your motherboard.

...I like the price they have

I agree that there are some design choices that look outdated now, but that price difference is pretty big: M1 will be $160-$200? + shipping from Taiwan + local import duty + sales tax, Lian Li PC-Qxx start at less than $80 (street price will probably be a bit lower) + local shipping (free?)

However at this point I think it would be quite indecent for Lian Li to pinch M1's type of layout, even though I'm sure they could very quickly adapt Necere's design and undercut the M1 price dramatically.

Of these new Lian Li, Q27 is the one I prefer. Despite the larger overall volume it does have a smaller footprint than M1 and the price is good, so I think it will be great for basic systems (personally I would forgo the ATX PSU and use picoPSU with a big, silent cooler) but for a more powerful dual expansion slot system M1 is significantly better than any of Lian Li's current range.

..... Lian Li PC-Qxx start at less than $80 (street price will probably be a bit lower) + local shipping (free?).....

wut?? 80$ maybe for one or two 3 year old models or a once-a-year sale. most have 10$ shipping too.

The bulk of the PC-Q series are around 120$ to 140$ish before tax and shipping. these will be at least that much.

A admit I didn't look very much, but I added the TechPowerUp report to the OP yesterday, they're saying MSRP of $78.99 for the PC-Q27. I see Q07 on sale for $60-$65, and Q03 for $76-$77 on a couple of stores (google shopping) although they are more expensive on Amazon or the eggshop. I acknowledge Q08/Q28 are more expensive around $120

My perspective has been skewed though - I thought USA usually has stuff lower priced than Europe, but maybe the small Lian Li are more competitive here than most other components. The smaller Qs (without psu) tend to be €45-€80, the larger Q28 is ~€99, but if M1 is $160+ship we'll be lucky to see change out of €200! ($260) so the EU price difference of M1 vs Q looks huge, hence the small Lian Li are a 'bargain' although I don't think there will be many times they get called that again!

I was sooo dissapointed by these. Had my hopes up for better PSU placement. But no. Even larger (then previous chassis of same style) on top of all.

Looks good though.

Elegant just like all of other Lian's cases. I think the competition has gotten a lot better recently. I think it may be a hard road for Lian Li in the future.

I'm guessing Lian Li will be releasing another set of similar cases in the coming months to replace the PC-Q02 and PC-Q11 (and other similar).
The Q02 was a great size though was a pity they provide the PSU, but with the NCase M1 prototype being cut by Lian Li I can't see them not nabbing a few of the features and adding them in to their next series.
And the Q11 with a SFX psu mounted where the Optical is currently and a slot loading optical going upwards would be pretty nice and could allow the case to potentially be even thinner.

PC-Q28: looks like they ditched the 2 3x3.5" racks in favor of a single 4x3.5" rack? look at the newegg pics vs the tradeshow pics

was hoping to fit 7 3.5" drives in there for a server :-/

Love my Q07 and Q11, only wish they had the tool-less side panels like these new cases. If the Q27 was a bit deeper I would replace my Q11.

I don't like how they don't include a 5.25" bay cover for CD/DVD ROM drives like the previous cases.

I am not quite sure who Lian-li is targetting with the PC-Q28B. Both PC-Q08 and PC-Q18 are known to be (rather) large mITX systems that can house a capable graphics card (good cooling for its class) and house a number of hard drives that power users like.

The only air intake for PC-Q28...appears to be a small slit running down the bottom. There's no side vent (understandably for aesthetics) or bottom intake option.

I can't help but feel like the case is too compromised. In my opinion, lian-li should have retained the hot swap of the PC-Q2x series, have the hard drive trays run top to bottom, renamed the case PC-Q27 and position it as a NAS case instead.

Nice pics. I will be getting a PC-Q28 for a haswell build. Thinking of reusing my Antec kuhler 920, Seasonic X760 and 1 2.5in and 1 3.5in HDD. I am thinking if the thick rad and 2 fans will block the PSU. Does anyone knows?
