This is something that literally everyone should do. You will not get this many legendary games for $20 (or less if you already own some) very often.

Alright...I've got to come clean. I've never played any of these

Are there specific must haves? Don't get me wrong because this
looks like a fantastic deal, but I barely have enough time to play the games
I already have...

I'm open to suggestions...

Baldur's Gate 2, Planescape Torment, Icewind Dale 2, NWN2, NWN, in that order.
In my opinion.

Personally, I think I enjoyed Planescape a bit more than BG2. Both are amazing though.

Bit on NWN 2 as I never played this for some reason. lol.

Thanks for feedback, I went ahead and bit on the bundle. Seemed like a small
fraction to pay for such a great selection of games.

Guess I'll flip a coin on whether to start Planescape or BG2 first ;)

You just can't pick! They're both amazing haha

For either game check out the forums on GOG for essential mods. Destructiod has some mod guides for both floating around too, but the GOG ones will be easier to find.

Whenever I see "Dungeons and Dragons" sale, I keep thinking the Gold Box sets will be re-released in nicer graphics... no such luck :(

so GOG doesn't do steam keys? i like that it's drm free but i don't like having to manage multiple websites/clients for different games... i'll probably forget i even bought these within a few weeks since i never visit GOG :/

A list of the greatest RPG's of all time minus Fallout 1 and 2 and Arcanum of course.

GOG rocks!

Planescape: Torment is the best game ever made by man and Balder's Gate #2 is top 10. Icewind Dale 2 and Temple if Elemental Evil have really, really, really good combat systems and encounter design. I would get those for sure.

If you can stomach the dated infinity engine this is 250 hours or great RPG time.

Someone else who remembers the old gold box games? I thought I was the only one. I used to love those. I tried emulating Curse a few years back, and it was buggy as all hell and had no sound. I'm hoping someone will at least make the full games work properly on modern systems.

Gold Box Gamer here!! I owned every GB game they put out. Those were great games back in the day.

Ah, I miss Pool of Radiance and Curse of the Azure Bonds (on the Commodore 64) :p

I had all of them except NW2: Complete. Got it for $3.99 @ 80% discount. :D

For new comers, NWN2 and NWN will be much more accessible. The graphics are better and the gameplay is more streamlined.

Planescape is a great game but starts off very slowly. Dated graphics can also be off-putting. It expects you to be pretty familiar with the D&D system. I would recommend Baldur's Gate 2 or IWD2 be played first, again because they were released later and the rules are a bit easier to pick up.

All of them are slow paced, long games that reward careful strategy and planning. Skyrim this is not.

Couldn't get into NWN2... don't know what it was, I think age hit me and grinding through games like this no longer is fun :(

Did get through the original NWN though... although the last boss cast some spell with blades shooting out of the ground and ground my system to a halt... I still beat him... but damn... Rockin' the Ti-4400 back then.. and fuck me sideways it sounded like a high pitched jet engine.

NWN is actually the worst looking of the bunch. The handpainted isometric is far more appealing to the eye than the hamfisted transition to 3D we had to endure.

The rules are actually far more complex in BG2/IWD than Planescape. I'd even say it is the easiest to pick up as difficult combat is very rare in comparison to any of the FR games.
