OCZ Gold PSU 1000W $110 AR

Are these reliable? I been using PC Power and Cooling + Corsair for my power supplies. Looking to do a new build this summer/fall though.

OCZ is hit or miss. Because of that I don't prefer them or anything made by OCZ nowadays to be honest. Besides very few people need a 1000w PSU so it will depend on what you plan on building this next time around.

The reviews are 16 five star, 2 one star. Usually people only write reviews when they fail. They don't seem too bad for a budget Gold 1000W.

I found 2 online reviews:

http://www.overclock3d.net/reviews/power_supply/ocz_z-series_z1000m_1000w_atx_psu/1

I'm not sure how reputable either site is since I don't regularly visit either. It looks like its got a few minor issues, but overall seems decent. Decent is probably the best you get from a 2009 (although this could be a later revision than the reviews) OCZ product. An OCZ PSU wouldn't be my first choice, but this doesn't look like a budget unit doomed to failure.

I've used OCZ PSUs in many many builds. Never had a problem with them. Looks like a sick deal.

This is a actually a very good PSU for the money..I know several people that have them and haven't had any issues..If you need lots of clean power for a decent price, it's hard to beat..

Cant say much about PSU but their SSD are very unreliable or at least the 3 i had to RMA then finally got a full refund..

I've only bought one OCZ power supply, but it's been a pain in the ass. Nothing wrong with the actual unit, but half the modular cables wouldn't work. I actually had to cannibalize a bunch of spare cables from a Corsair modular psu to get the damn thing to work.
