I own one of these TVs and would like to hook it up to the internet using a wifi-dongle. Currently I plug in my laptop to the TV to watch movies on Amazon and Hulu (luckily the laptop has a HDMI output). Panasonic DY-WL10 Wireless LAN Adapter is $200 and the newer version is over $100. Is there any way I can use a cheap $10 wifi-dongle? Or maybe wifi repeater? There's got to be a better and cheaper way (besides hooking up a laptop to the TV) to be able to watch internet content on the TV.

does it have an ethernet port as well? You could use a wireless bridge.

I used a powerline kit to hook up my roommates TV so he could watch netflix. Would only work if you had an ethernet port on the TV though.

The wifi dongle is garbage and over expensive for your Viera.

I recommend using the ethernet port and a powerplug ethernet adaptor or a wireless to ethernet client for cheap.

I have a Viera and stopped using the wifi dongle when I hooked it up to powerline. Much better experience.

Personally, it's never really mattered to me what brand of cable I buy when it comes to ethernet. Maybe someone else will give me a reason to start thinking about it.

Hi fellas I'm running into a problem here. I have a router from WOW and in my basement I found a Belkin router as well. I plugged in the Belkin router and a Cat5e cable from the router to the TV. The internet still does not work on the TV. When I do a the "Connection Test" on the TV the following work:

Check Ethernet cable connection
Acquire IP address from router
check for IP address duplication
check connection to the Internet

Check communication with VIERA CAST server - does not work

"Connection to the server failed. Please check this TV's network setting".

Anyone know how to do this?
