HOT - modular, GOLD certified Corsair HX650 for $69.99 after $20 MIR

hot deal... i do not need this, i do not need this, i do not need this :)

Meh, don't need it. Already have a TX650. A good deal on an overpriced at retail power supply.

Amazing deal, one currently powering my PC right now. Love this PSU. Must... not... buy...

Should I be at all concerned about the recent 1-star reviews listed on Amazon? They mention audible chirping noises.

I think they are referring to fan noises mostly. Take that as you will and take a chance if you don't care. It's ridiculous how some reviewers are. 1 Star when it probably functions fine....(facepalm)

damn

Im in the market for something smaller(Nas)

Thinking the cx430m

Anyone that owns one of these tell me which Yate Loon fan is inside? I hate that my current TX850W, while working perfectly, is the loudest thing in my system..I have 4 GT AP-15s, and a 230mm intake fan all running @ 7V, and when folding on my 480 and cpu (UPS is showing 474W) the fan in my TX is insane...

A friend of mine is doing a new build and needs a big PSU, and offered to buy it for $65, so I would basically be out nothing to move up to a Gold rated, fully modular PSU from the Bronze rated TX..

I love Corsair's warranty. They replaced my 4+ yr old HX520 with an HX650!

I absolutely would be concerned with the 10 out of 15 reviews that mention chirping. There is a video posted if you want to hear the noise for yourself. It's a very annoying sound that sounds like the electronics changing the fan speed. It's not a whirring noise of the fan moving the air. (Edit: The video is on Amazon, not Newegg. Amazon supports [H]ard|OCP with commissioned links. Newegg no longer does.)

I have four Corsair power supplies and have had zero issues. I would always recommend a Corsair power supply, but this model seems to be one to avoid.

The sound is very similar to what I was expecting, just it's a bit louder (at least in that video).
That said, not everyone has it and people may want to chance it. Modular and gold standard at a good price still.

I have this PSU and yes, you should be worried about those reviews. It's a very good performing PSU and I am happy with it, but it suffers from BAD coil whine. I looked into getting it warranty replaced but others who have done so have gotten back units with the same problem. I don't think it actually affects anything but it does get annoying when the PSU starts pushing out a lot of power (during gaming).

EDIT: OK, I just watched the video on Amazon. Mine does not make that noise at all. I just assumed that people were talking about the coil whine problem.
