Hello everyone, I have a serious problem with my pc. It worked perfectly until now, but when I turned my PC off and wanted to restart again, I can't. The Pc turns on and is stuck in "please pres DEL to enter UEFI BIOS setting". And I can't press DEL as it seems that the PC doesnt recognize any USB ports (the lights on the mouse and keyboard dont turn on).

I tried plugging in another keyboard and the light on the keyboard dont turn on, nor can I press any keys.

I have the P8Z77-V PRO. The only thing which changed from yesterday to today was the update from itunes. I have no idea what is going wrong, can someone help me please? I need to fix it as soon as possible..

Have you tried to reset the bios yet? Did you have an O/C setup on the rig?

Sorry im not so experienced with PCs, it is my first self-built one. I cleared the RTC RAM CMOS like is says in the manual, but I haven't removed the battery. I didn't overclock anything on the PC.

I forgot to mention that when I turned the PC off, windows shutted down and the monitor as well, but the fans were still running! It happened already once before and like last time, I pressed the power button for 3 seconds and forced the PC to turn off. Only this time comes this error when trying to boot..

I FOUND THE ERROR! I'm so happy right now:D

I took out 1 ram (out of the two 4 GB RAMS I have) and the PC started up! The strange thing is that BOTH work this way, my theory was that either one of them is broken. When I put both back into their original position, I get the same error and can't start up the PC. Now here's the thing: If I swap their place, I CAN start my PC!

Should I still replace them? Because I still have 3 issues with my PC:

1) Bluescreen every 2-3 month

2) Some Internet pages are extremely slow, I thought maybe it is because of a plugin (and I did everything in my power to fix it, with no result). But could it be because of my RAM sticks?

3) When I turn off my PC, sometimes the fans in the case are still running. Windows, mouse, monitor and keyboard are all turned off but the PC is still running and I'm forced to hold the power button for 3 seconds. Could my RAM be the culprit here as well?

I have the Corsair Vengeance Blue, 2x4GB, DDR3-1600, [email protected] RAM.

If the sticks of ram work individually then there is nothing wrong with them. Replacing them is a waste of money and will not fix anything.
It sounds like the motherboard is flaky and having problems. You may need to RMA if still under warranty.

If this is your board: http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/Intel_Socket_1155/P8Z77V_PRO/
then you should have the ram sticks in either the blue slots or the black slots.
If you were using the blue, try them both in the black. If you were using the black, try blue. Just try to narrow it down a bit. As a last resort you could also try one stick in a black and then one in the blue next to it. If it boots then you know the ram is fine and the board is messed up somehow.

If all that doesn't get you a situation where they work together then the board is an issue and you need to RMA, Well, contact Asus first. They might want to try to help you troubleshoot first before sending it in.

In the meantime, backup what you can in case you are down again.

edit: one more thing, make sure you are updated to the latest bios. There is an outside chance it may help. Not very likely, but worth a shot.

I can't use both 2 black slots, because my cooler gets in the way of thos big heat spreaders. But it boots in the following cases:

1) 1 in black
2) 1 in blue (both blue work fine)
3) And it works when "Ram A" is in the first slot and "Ram B" in the second slot.

If RAM B is in slot 1 and RAM A in slot 2 it freezes.

I imagine that swapping out the motherboard is fairly time consuming, as I read that you have to reinstall windows, have a clean save, c&p all data on the HDD und put the cables in the right place again etc..

I just don't know if its the RAM or the motherboard, I prefer it would be the RAM.. Both are still under warranty btw, so I can still change them without spending money.

You don't know? You just proved that the RAM works individually and together. You also proved that not all slots on the board work. The board is bad. Period. If you don't rma it you are stuck for now in single channel mode. You have a board where more memory slots can die. Worst of all it has zero resale value like it is now.

hm... it could just be a setting. might just need more voltage for the ram. i'd play around with the timings and voltage; then run some memtest passes. if you get it working without any issues, no need to replace anything. if you still have issues, get started on that rma process... it takes a WHILE to get stuff back, especially around this time of year.

I will turn in back and get a new one, and build it together when I have some time. Thanks for the help guys!
