hi, i figured since i upgraded my computer i'm looking into using my old parts for a htpc. Currently at the moment i have the Asus Maximus IV extreme-z mobo and the i7-2700k, and i was looking at this case:

Silverstone Grandia GD08B http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811163196

since i already have a mobo already and this one fits extended atx mobos i read a few reviews that it maybe cramped according to guru3d's review. my question is has anyone had any experience with e-atx motherboards and this case? or does anyone else have a better recommendation for a htpc case similar to this one?

Well, filtering on Newegg shows the GD08B and the GD07B are the only HTPC cases they have that fit eATX. HTPC's by nature are pretty cramped, because HTPC's are supposed to look good in a cabinet/entertainment center.

Truthfully, those parts are way overkill for an HTPC. You could probably sell the combo and pick up an i3 or even a G620 with a mATX motherboard, pocket some cash, and have your choice of whatever case you want. That's what I'd do.

Thank you for the input. You're right,I just figured since i already had the parts i'd make a htpc/gaming computer but then again i already have a gaming computer and most likely i wouldn't use it for gaming lol. Thank you for the input again.
