ipad mini as an ereader? convert books from android?

used my iphone as a convenient book reader in bed and on lunch, but with the mini out now it seems like it may be the perfect replacement for reading. guess my only gripe is that i can't convert books from my moms kindle into apple format, or can you? what do you guys think?

Why not use the Kindle app?

lol, you have to have the brain power to think about using the kindle app. never even dawned on me...
