Does anyone own an Asus VG278HE?

I don't own it but I know it has over 1 frame of input lag at 60Hz, if you care about that sort of thing :)

Otherwise its great...you should consider purchasing the prad review, its well worth the $

Don't buy from newegg, there are plenty of places to buy from with way better, hassle free return+exchange polices like best buy, amazon, buy.com, ect...

The regular VG278H has better colours than the VG278HE and a built in IR emitter which allows one to play 3D console games and watch 3D blu-rays on the PS3, and it comes with the 3D Vision Kit.

The VG278HE offers an extra 24hz-30hz (can be set to 150hz with custom timings) and is cheaper than it's predecessor, but it isn't better. So far only PRAD.de has reviewed both.

Already put the order in. I'll see how they are if I have any problems I always have the option to return them.
No tax with Newegg unlike Amazon.. I would have ended up playing over $150 in tax to them.. Newegg doesn't charge tax.. I have to wonder who that tax goes to?

I have been eyeing it, but I keep talking myself out of it because of the horrible things I have read on this forum and others about Asus lack of Customer support.

Amazon tax is most likely due to them having a shipping facility in your vicinity.

Newegg is pretty much hasslefree now. Their monitor return policy was changed a while ago.

Newegg charges a 15% restocking fee..

Not to me they didn't.

They told me the only time they do that is when a person returns a panel they don't want, or they return a monitor and no problem/issue is detected and the person decides to just have Newegg keep it.

I just did a return last week and got a full refund. My complaint was the VG278HE exhibited excessive backlight bleed at the bottom.

Refund granted. No restocking fee.

Yeah, that's happened to me too, but the opposite has also happened and I had to pay the 15%.

The uncertainty of if they will enforce their policy it is what makes me order from amazon.

Are returns subject to a restocking fees?
Any return for a refund may be subject to a 15% restocking fee. This fee may be waived for the following reasons:

Carrier damage
Defective product
Product does not match advertising
Received incorrect product
Product was an extra item not ordered
Note: Any return that is misrepresented as being for any of the above reasons will automatically have the restocking fee applied even if it was initially waived.
