Wait a second, does this article say the fugitive was caught after his girlfriend "liked the police department's Facebook page?" :eek:

Deputies with the Tazewell County Sheriff’s Office captured a sex offender wanted out of Maryland today after his girlfriend provided clues to his location by "liking" the authorities on Facebook. This information provided deputies with critical information such as Naecker's girlfriend’s residence and her name.

Curious what the sex offender was for, did he rape someone? did he bang a 17 year old? did he grab a hot chick's ass?

i find it odd that i have checked out about 20 different articles and i cant find one thing that says exactly why he is so dangerous....
 
I get that they might have had a warrant out for his arrest because he hadn't checked in. But how is his girlfriend guilty of obstruction? Specially if it was her actions that allowed the cops to find him. Seems like a pointless charge that will just waste the county money.

How can liking a page lead to the cops knowing that such a person who liked their page is related to a criminal?
 
The way I interpreted that "wonderful" reporting was...

He was charged in a different region, put on the list, fled and they didn't know where he was..

Then when she "Liked" a local county's department they assumed the couple were in that county.

Not sure if that's write. How I understood it anyways.
 
Failure to register as a sex offender is a crime. Both a state and a federal crime.

The locals learned he was in their area. They found him.

When she liked the page, it let the police station see all her info on her fb page. which included full name, addresss, etc. Probably just assumed he was at her place so they go to check, bam.
