HD Homerun Prime CableCard tuner $119.99 @ Frys

Awesome deal on that, I wish I had waited a bit longer to buy. I jumped on the rebadged USB version from Happugage in Jan when the Primes were still in short supply and the USB version was $75 cheaper. I picked up a Prime to serve my other systems a few months back. I really wish I had 3 primes.

These cable tuners have probably been the best PC purchase I've made in years though. I absolutely love being able to bring up media center on any computer or xbox in the house and watch live TV.

Excuse my ignorance, basically, I can get this set it up on my comp, run our inbound cable into my computer and stream our normal cable, or our HD cable channels to my computer via Windows Media Center? And subsequently to all computers/tvs/devices through the network from my computer?

Pretty much

The HD Homerun Prime takes a cable card, which your cable company has to provide you legally (only works with cable). The Prime then connects to your cable and your network then any system with Windows Media Center 7 can share the three tuners on the prime unit, watch any network your cable subscription provides, and get full DVR support. The only thing that isn't supported is on demand stuff.

You can then pass that on to any device that is specifically a media center extender or recorder then encode it in a different format for other streaming devices.

edit: I also want to add they pretty much pay for themselves. I have Comcast and they will provide you two cable cards free of charge, so I was able to drop $30 in DVR service/rental fees off my account. I now pay less than $99 a month for digital preferred cable and 30Mbit net (including all fees and stuff).

Is this ad still valid, and does anyone know if there are still some in stock in DFW?

Damn, doesn't seem like I can buy online and have it shipped. Would love another, these things are great if you have a number of 360s or computers...
