Diablo 3 Headset Issues

Hello everyone, I recently purchased the D3 Headset by Steel Series and I'm having some issues with the Mic. I've installed the drivers/updated the firmware but still when something is full screen the mic sounds garbled to people online. This is not an internet problem alone, as when I try sound recorder and maximize something it comes out sounded even worse, something like the devil trying to sing opera through my speakers.

I've contacted SS and they could not find a solution, I was wondering if anyone has ever heard of this problem or a solution?

hah, yeah thought about that when it first happened. I said, "damn, these are very accurate" or something like that.

I got my Steel Series headset a couple months ago and ran in to the exact same problem. If yours is the same, I'm assuming you have an Audigy sound card? Apparently it's a software issue with the audigy series cards. Supposedly there is a 3rd party app/driver than can remedy this, but for me I just kept my sound going through the audigy and plugged my mic in to the onboard. Hope this helps.
