Steam 2011 Holiday Sale is here!!

I now see MNC at only 50% off or $4.99.

Don't know why they sometimes changes prices after they're posted.

Payday: The Heist. Worth it? Does it have maps/mods like L4D2?

I think I was reading it only has six maps.

Don't think it has mods, but I thought it was worth it. Even just finding public games is fun, though I usually only play with friends in L4D.

In a way, it's kind of like L4D in terms of replayability, but some may find the heists get old after a little while because you're only playing against AI. If they had a versus mode (like L4D) where players controlled the special cop units, then it would definitely be just as fun as L4D.

Payday da heist is a real sleeper. On the surface, it seems like a generic L4D wanna-be with a bank heist spin-off. It's actually done pretty well though and it's not all about bank robbing. For instance, one map has you setting up a fake deal in a drug house and stealing the goods in the panic room. The gameplay style is mainly something like L4D survival mode 2.0. Where in some cases you have to defend the safe from the authorities as the auto-driller drills it's way into the winnings. Then move to a different location where the goods are dropped off into a storage container, then defend some more. Rinse and repeat. It's solid though and the waves of enemies proves a challenge, even on normal mode.

The game could have been set up in way where if it took the level of realism and tactics/planning( I literally mean mission planning before the map starts) found in the original R6 series, then it could have been a real hit in the hardcore community.

Payday is a sleeper hit. Don't miss it.

F1 2011 isn't worth 25 bucks when rFactor is out there with absolutely insane mods and costs 20 bucks retail new, unless you prefer a more arcadey experience. F1 2010/11 are solid games but they aren't simulators. If you want the real thing, get rFactor and download GPC1979, F1-SR 1991, and CTDP 2005/2006. And that's just the start of F1 open wheel. There's CART, NASCAR, DTM, Touring, V8 sport, and many other mods out there and they're all free. rFactor Pro is actually used by F1 and NASCAR and in a couple F1 broadcasts it can be seen in the actual F1 simulators.

The graphics are old but can be upgraded to 2011 standard if you've got a powerful rig for ENBseries. Youtube has some amazing videos of rFactor with ENB and there's more mods out there than you can possibly imagine. My rFactor install is 68gb.

videos of rfactor + ENB (which itself is fully customizable for performance and visual quality to your personal taste):

Considering that rFactor can also be made more arcade like if you prefer via difficulty settings (fully scalable) there's no reason to touch F1 2010/2011 at all. I'm enthusiastic about rFactor because I only got into it a couple months ago after trying out the various sims that are out there. None of them even come close except iRacing which is subscription based and has very little content compared with rFactor which has nearly limitless content.

If you like tower defense games there is literally nothing better than the Defense Grid complete bundle.

I have 3 extra copies for Payday if anyone is interested. $7.50 if it is a gift and $8 if it isn't for the fees I'll be getting. Send me a message if interested.

I'll take one, PM'd you already. For some Reason, $8 sounds so much cheaper than $10, especially when you can get a good deal on steam for the $2 difference...

I know it's an easy, convenient place to offload the extras from a 4-pack of games, but we should probably keep the bst out of here. I remember last year the powers-that-be weren't happy with us doing that and I *think* shut down the thread.

Just sayin'

I was reading through this and seen other people selling copies of games. I'll hit up the for sale section next time to make less clutter in here. It does make more sense.

limbo and blur are the only two that stands out. blur is an amazing game.. except NO ONE PLAYS IT. GAH. Hella fun when playing with friends though.
