EDIT: I opened the included attachment that came with the email (using a Blackberry and didn't notice it) and in it said:

"Replacement:4VN580U15I-00-10A2 / noise/Y"

Noise? Did they replace the fan or something? Hardly the problem and the fans are louder that sh!t to begin with! Maybe this was just their excuse to issue a replacement card? Hmmm...

------------------------------------------------------------------------

So I RMA'ed my GTX480 a couple weeks ago and just received a email from Gigabyte with a tracking number and a notice stating:

"We have finished testing your GIGABYTE product(s) and it is (they are) being returned back to you."

Testing? Being returned?!?!

The card was crapped out hardcore! Constant BSOD WHEN it decided to work...constant flickering display...I mean, problems that would have been totally apparent after 30 seconds of using the card.

Please, please, PLEASE someone tell me they aren't sending back my broken card and that I have to start this process all over again!!! I've been stuck with my back-up ATI 2400Pro for two weeks (meaning no gaming) and can't deal with having to wait 2 more...

AHHHHHHHH!!!

Call them up and see what is going on. I personally never had any problems with Gigabyte's RMA service, all went well for me. But yes, I would be pissed if they sent me the same card without proper testing as well.

Didn't buy it from them...bought it here on the forums...and for $200 no less, so its a win-win either way.

Here's to hoping they at least send back a working card!!!

Sent them a email just a little while ago and will call them tomorrow to see what actually happened.

Ok...called Customer Support and was notified that I am getting a replacement card...refurbished of course...but a replacement none the less, which is a great relief as the one I sent in was beyond repair!

Good CS though...very quick to answer the phone and was able to answer my question immediately once given my RMA number.

Now granted the RMA took 2 weeks to complete, but over all (taking into consideration that the new card works fine) I had a great experience with Gigabytes service!
