"What fresh hell is this?" Or, trying to overclock i5-750

Hi, first post here. I have been running my i5-750 at BCLK 160MHz for over a year now with no problem on a Gigabyte GA-P55A-UD3P motherboard with Corsair 1600 DDR3 1.65v memory.

Last night, I tried upping the base clock to 180 (confirmed by CPU-Z), and I rebooted and ran a benchmark, and everything ran fine (and showed performance increases...CPU maxed at ~4320MHz when Turbo multiplier went to x24). I have a CM Hyper-212+ cooler, and temps never got over 60 degrees C during benchmarking. I never messed with any voltages, either. I didn't mess with ANYTHING except the BCLK setting. Then, I tried upping to 190MHz , and my machine wouldn't boot. I thought "ok, a little too much" and started cranking it back down....so far down, that I now realize that my machine won't run at any more than 133 base clock.

Here's the weird thing: I can set the base clock at 160MHz in the BIOS, and the machine will boot fine. However, the POST shows the memory running at 1600, but the CPU only running at (21x133) instead of (21x160) like before. And once in Windows, CPU-Z shows my base clock running at only 133, and memory running at only 1333.

So, did I fry something? Is something "stuck" in my motherboard now that won't let me run higher than 133MHz? I was under the impression that I couldn't fry anything as long as I had proper cooling and didn't mess with the voltage ??? Please help!

ETA: I tried "clearing" my motherboard settings by installing an older BIOS version and then re-installing the latest BIOS (which I was already using before), and none of this helped.

Try pulling the BIOS battery out for a couple of hours.

Run memtest and let it run for at least 5 tests (overnight run) to be entirely sure everything is working at it's best :D
