Yeah I saw this a while back. I can't remember where I saw it but Microsoft has been aware of the touch responsiveness for sometime and indeed there are already apps like the Opera Mobile Browser for Windows 7 that demonstrate what's in this demo.

So true. Speeding up computing by adding more cores and memory is the lazy way. Optimizing software is where the significant performance benefits can be reaped. For now we don't need faster processors and more memory - just better tuned software, which can also reduce watt usage.
