So a woman poses as a teenager on Facebook to trick her soon-to-be ex-husband. The FBI get involved after the man discusses a murder plot with the fake teenager / soon-to-be ex-wife...and then it gets weird.

Except, on Tuesday, all charges were dropped suddenly. It appears Mr. Voelkert had been running a scam of his own. According to The Smoking Gun, he produced a notarized affidavit – signed six days before he first mentioned any sinister plans – that made clear he’d suspected all along that Jessica was really Angela. His affidavit stated that he had “no plans” to harm anyone. “I am lying to this person,” the affidavit states, “to gain positive proof that it is indeed my ex-wife trying to again tamper in my life.”

He probably went on her laptop and saw the history or maybe it came up as a cached login.

Hell, can't that one firefox add-on tell you the login credentials computers are using on your network?

Or maybe he just knows he very well.

Smart guy. The wife tried to play him and ended up being played by him who knew all along it was her.

I've been telling people for years that I can tell who they are just by the way they type. Anyone can do it. I'm sure the soon-to-be ex-husband knew it was his wife by the way she phrased things and talk.

I don't understand why people try to fuck each other so hard. What a crazy wife.

that puts a smile on my face. Women tie themselves up in everyone elses lives other then their own and this story is the perfect example of egg in the face.

Left out of the story was that "Jessica" is the one who first suggested murder. Yes, Angela advised David to kill Angela.

Lesson to be learned: Be like this guy. If your in a long-term relationship that's going sour and suddenly pretty attractive 18-year-olds that keep implying they are hot for you are adding you to their friends list, actively flirting and trying to dig-dirt on you, its probably your spouse. Be sure to give her false info and make sure she looks like the fool in the end.

Or he could have just ignored the friend request and saved himself 4 days in custody...

It's all about the benjamins as someone said. If this wife could prove the husband was having an affair or spousal abuse, she can get a much nicer/larger divorce settlement. The husband now can show the meddling in his life by his wife and imprisonment etc as signs he's being spousal abused by his wife and get the larger divorce settlement.

He may have easily made himself $30-50k via those 4 days in jail in the divorce settlement share.

(In the end, though, it’s the kids trapped in the middle of this mess that deserve our sympathy.)

That right there. People get hurt and they want to hurt more by being able to manipulate the situation with the kids. Any time kids are involved things get worse by the square.

Meh. If the family court judge is anything like the imbecile I just got through dealing with, the husband is just as likely to be told he was engaging in the game as well and thus they're both equally guilty of screwing with one another.

This said judge/court has made me entirely lose my faith in the justice system. (Not on my behalf; as a witness on behalf of a female friend.)

I agree that it's awesome. I'd like to think there was a better way of exposing that crazy bitch without involving something as crass as a fake murder plot, but sometimes the only way to get someone to flinch is to fake a punch.

I'd really like to know the whole story here. I'm willing to bet a woman who goes to those lengths has a history of this shady sort of spying and stalking. I guess it would take something this huge to get a judge to produce a restraining order.

That's awesome.
I can't for the life in me find the other epic story of revenge (either 4chan or bodybuilding forums). Maybe someone here will know what I'm talking about. Girl cheats on her boyfriend and tries to screw him over (saying she was raped etc), and he takes it all the way to court.
Anyone??

I believe it was a story about a man whose woman tried to pin a pregnancy on him, only to turn out the guy was medically sterile and couldn't have kids.

Because women can be the most trifling vindictive creatures on the planet.

+1,000,000 right there. I had a hell of a divorce even though it was my ex that was screwing around, to quote True Lies "women can't live with em and you can't kill em either."

Both of these scumbags need to be removed from society, but too bad they've already mated. :(

Women are the purest form of absolute evil available in this universe in large quantities. Too bad they have a lock on 100% of the pussy. You gotta pay to play.

I take it you do not know any angry women?

I'm married so yes I do. This is the same women I handed divorce papers too and told her she could either sign them or fix her attitude (medically).

Man that worked so well. No I'm not being sarcastic.

At least he was smart and got that affidavit well before saying anything. If he hadn't they'd probably have put him away for decades.

Fucked up.

This will make an awesome movie once Mathew Perry gets out of rehab and Bruce Willis comes out of his hangover.

Yes... well, if he did that he wouldn't have known his ex is trying to screw him over. Doing this, he gets in the better position should anything happen.

The article seems to say they are already divorced when it happened though, or am I reading it wrong?

I know what dude I am. I'm the dude playin' the dude, disguised as another dude!

This reminds me of that one Looney Toons movie where they kept unzipping themselves to reveal different characters...

I'm sorry, but I just laughed for a while at this one. Does that make me a bad person?
