Let me get this straight, the company that spent almost $4 billion on GeoCities thinks Google is "still crazy" for paying $1.65 billion for YouTube? Umm, what?

Mr. Mitzenmacher, who was on a panel with deal executives from Google, LinkedIn and Adobe Systems, took a swipe at Google’s 2006 purchase of YouTube for $1.6 billion, saying the price is “still crazy.”

Why do they always use words like 'slam'? I see that all the time in headlines!

But realistically, I don't think this is a real comment from Yahoo. I think it's a rigged comment. No one in their right mind, especially at such high level in business and corporate ladder, would sincerely think that. At the least, if anything, they would or should suspect something fishy about Google.

Even if it was absurd (which I dont think), 1.65billion for google? thats peanuts for them, lol. Coming from yahoo that doesnt merit much.

<sarcasm>Yahoo ? Who are they ? I heard about them at the end of '90s, but then this altavista thing came out and never heard anymore of them.</sarcasm>

They are that company that had their logo/advertisment in the Inspector Gadget movie with Matthew Brodrick. It's such a timeless classic far exceeding other classics like Star Wars triology, The Matrix Triology and any Indiana Jones movie that I watch it ever week and am constantly reminded by the good decisions Yahoo makes such as paying $1,000,000.00 for that advertisement at the time.

geocities was awesome, until yahoo took over. If Yahoo hadn't ruined it, it would be megalithic today.

youtube, like most of google's companies, is valuable for the user data they derive

yahoo criticising google? Where in the F does yahoo the POS company it is not compared to Google have anything to criticize google? They are dominating a game that yahoo practically created. If nothing else youtube maintains google in the public mind more than anything else.

LOL, How quick they forget. Goggle wins at least 70% of the time, and that means profit.
