Posting so I remember to sell Demon's Souls to you instead of flinging it out the window.
There is some nuance to the combat that I can see people appreciating but the difficulty that everyone talks about is artificial. A better way to say it is that punishments for messing up are extreme. No saves. Start back at square one with all enemies you just beat waiting for you again... and one fuck up equals start all over. Wash, rinse, repeat.
Typical Japanese game. I mean, it's like Donkey Kong dressed up as an RPG. You have to memorize the game to beat it.
