Wave 1 Beta has started (West Coast), With wave 2 and 3 coming soon!

I played the original APB, and I certainly cannot wait to play this.

Patch notes are out, and they have already made the game 1000% better than RTW did.
 
Game won't be m uch fun unless t hey redo the whole driving/shooting controls/animations, the "feel" of it is just so stiff and unnatural. Also Player skill should be > the gun you are using. Having guns be so vastly superior to another really ruined the cool facltor of playing an ACTION mmo game, when you'd pop someone multiple times with your gun and they had the op ones that'd drop you quick.

Hm, I thought the driving was fine. The shooting was very arcadeish (stiff as you call it).

They did change how recoil works, to add in more of a tactical aspect. As for OP guns, personally I never really saw one gun being more OP than the other in terms of upgrades. Savage 3 canceled out Monolith 3. The only slightly over powered gun was the three slot n-tec and three slot OCA that would have Sav 3, SnP 3, and EE 3.

Not sure if im going to give this one a go. I did play APB with my friends and had fun but don't think i can get back into it

Yeah, if I had to repurchase the I wouldn't do it. Alas, free to play sounds great to me :)
 
All my west coast friends got in. I am praying and checking my email obsessively for my key. Wave 2, please Gawd.

I greatly enjoyed the game before, and I'm sure I'll greatly enjoy it again.

The game had major major flaws, I know this; The fact that it had flaws did not take away from the enjoyment I had while playing.

Also, read the patch notes. They are taking this game in the right direction, even poking fun at fixing a major issue in thirty minutes, while RTW never seemed to grasp how.
 
I can't wait for this game to be honest. Yes it had its flaws but I never ever got bored in even with my near top level guy. It is a great game for people like me but maybe not if you are not competitive. I am excited about the changes.

If anyone wants to "donate" their account so I can try it out I'd love you! I have heat under this same name if you don't want to trust a stranger. :)

Seriously I just need that quick fix so I can wait for mine its killllinnggg meeee lol.

I'm also in the Judgement clan if any [H] ers are looking for a good one and going enforcers. I was with them all through the APB that was and we were very strong (160 members or so at the end) with some pretty good guys at the head. Shoot me a PM if you're interested.

I was dissapointed to see the first APB fail cause I really liked the beta. Hopefull they can improve this one.
 
I played in APB beta last time, and it was a blast, back when you only got 5 or so hours to play. I can't remember the last time me and my friends laughed and yelled so much while playing a game.
 
I actually preordered APB and played it until it went down, looking forward to this. Signed up for beta hopefully I get in. Hopefully this time, they can do a better job than RTW at improving the game.

Well...I was 80% downloaded and accidently quit out of the launcher. Now it looks like the download is starting all over again and I'm only getting 50kb/s compared to 600kb/s earlier :(

Also, since 90% of the time I post on [H] is at work, the site is blocked.

I will definitely give this game another shot once it is out beta. My biggest concern really is what they have done to stop the hackers that were rampant after the games first release.

Well the biggest thing they did was actually enable punk buster. Original APB couldn't manage to do that.
 
So just an aside from someone who has played closed beta. They are regularly fixing the things that are a little messed up from the old game. It is already much better and feels much better from the beginning. Unlike the old game you are now competitive from the get-go, which is nice. The upgrades have been downgraded so you won't get wtfpwnd for your first 15 hours like before.

The only think I'm concerned about is the server and lag issues though apparently those are in the next patch coming out according to the blog.

All in all I am very excited from what I have seen so far. I am very excited about the new game modes coming soon!
