I should know better. Anytime stuff is working and I change it up something finds a way to get fubar'd. My MSI TwinFrozr has been running fine forever in one boxen and I switch it to another and now the thing is stuck on 300core/600shader/100mem. I tried everything (new drivers, driver sweeper, rivatuner, afterburner) and no dice. So I switch it back to the old box where it worked fine and it's still stuck at the low numbers. I can put any of my other cards (88/9800GT's) in either box and they work perfect. Someone's gonna say BAKE IT, I know, but let's here some other ideas. This thing was working perfect this morning when I unplugged it. I appreciate any suggestions.

It came out of a Vista32 box and I put it in a Win7-64 box. I fiddled around with that 2d/3d thing in rivatuner...I could click on 3d and set the OC but even after I his apply the monitor still shows it at the low numbers.

sounds like driver crashing....is it the primary card? or the 2ndary car din the system ?

When I installed it in the new box, it went in the primary slot along side a 9800GT and the problem occurred immediately. I took out the 9800, no change, so I update to the latest drivers, still no change. It just seem so weird that it won't work in the box I took it out of and nothing changed there except I did put an 8800GT in it for a few hours, which worked fine.

It hardly ever happens, but you might have zapped something with static (or forgot to connect the power connector on the card)

the easy fix to figure out if its the card or drivers, plug a second monitor into it. the card will automatically go to 3D clocks because nvidia sucks and doesn't support multi-monitor 2D clocks in anything except the 400/500 series. if it doesn't go to 3D clocks with both monitors connected then its either 1 of 2 things, you fubar'd the card or the drivers are borked.

I'll give that second monitor thing a try for sure... I thought about the power connectors but they were in there good...tried it a couple of times in the new box and again on the original one. We have had a lot of static in the house so you never know. Thanks for the suggestions everyone...I'll let you know.

Hooked up 2nd monitor but still no change. The thing will fold though except it's down 3-4K ppd, naturally, but still cranking out about 5K ppd. Crafty Otter might be on to something as the 300/600/100 is exactly the default for 2D mode. But if it is stuck in 2D, how does one get it out? I was hoping the second monitor trick would work but appartently not. I guess if you never had any problems, you'd never learn anything. You guys are a big help. I'm sure the answer is around here somewhere.

Uh...I had my clients mixed up...looks like the GTX260 is folding at 8K+ like it would at default settings. It has to be running at default clocks but who would rivatuner and afterburner report 300/600/100 on two different machines? Pfft...enough for tonight, gotta pack it in...work tomorrow.

Rivatuner is now reporting the correct speeds 648/1404/1053... I don't know why but I'll take it. If nothing else, I hope you all got a good laugh out of me talking to myself here for these last several posts. Full Folding Speed Ahead!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
