And for those that might ask, the results on 1080p streaming through LAN or wireless (n obviously, wouldn't even try a g connection) are mixed. I have had no issue via LAN streaming 1080p, didn't try the wireless (I got mine with a free USB g-wireless adapter last year).

I'm tempted to do one of these instead of my E6300 HTPC.

Does it connect to SMB shares nicely?

In my experience, yes, samba shares are fine. Copying files from the network to the disk (I added a 1TB WD 2.5" disk to the one I got) is ungodly slow, but it can read fast enough to keep up while playing. Plug it in over USB if you want to preload it, it shows up as standard NTFS.

Dammit, I really wish the rebate wasn't a prepaid card... Would've ordered otherwise

Does this unit have the ability to read & select subtitles in MKV files? This would be great for 1080p foreign films.
