Gentle Typhoon 2150 Group Buy

Man.. if only I had the extra cash. I'll keep it in mind for the near future.

Thanks for this.

$12 including worldwide shipping :p

Yep. I'm getting a couple more than I should. Figure if I ever have just too many laying around for an extended period of time, will be no problem getting my money back at this price.

I'm in for 5....I have 3 GT15's, and I haven't been all that impressed with their durability, but its hard to find a better fan for WC. At $12 a pop the 2150rpm model is simply too hard to pass up.

are these any good with 5v or 7v resistors?
would love to run a fan at 660-1300rpm.

would this at 1150rpm be equal to the original 12V 1150rpm Scythe Gentle Typhoon?

how about noise when running it 660-1150rpm anything negative?

Nobody knows anything about these fans, as nobody owns any. As far as I know, this group buy will be the first time these have entered the US market (2150rpm version).
As for voltage, they are rated to run from 5-13v...and if they share any characteristics with the GT15's, then they'll under-volt very well. That said, these fans appear to be slightly different then their lower RPM siblings. All the 2150rpm and up fans seem to use different blades (rectifier ring), and I'm not sure if there are any motor differences.
I am personally hoping they share the noise to airflow characteristics of the GT15. That is the only reason I'm buying them...I'm hoping for a $12 GT15+. Considering they won't be produced much longer, I am getting in while the gettings hot. If I don't like them, I'm sure there is going to be a nice second hand market for them.

Actualy they sell in japan, I have however not found a review of it.

The 2150 version uses the same 9 blade fans as the other lower RPM ones.

Is this still going on? I ask because there seems to be some delays over at OCN regarding the shipment of these fans.

Its a delay period. Ive been waiting patiently for them to give any word what so ever and they havent said a peep for about 2 weeks now. Im thinking Im going to pull my $100+ dollars out of this. I understand personal issues, but not saying anything on something this big, for this long is ridiculous.

I had 8 on order and got a big run around by the thread OP, so I subsequently cancelled and bought 8 1850's for 12 bucks free shipping elsewhere.

As some have stated they have been very feet-dragging with the whole thing.

Can you share where you got that kind of deal?

Yah I'm not keeping up with the thread either. I feel like they let it grow too large and the whole thing just got too cumbersome.

The thread has been closed for a while and no updates.

I believe there are a few shops that are in the process of getting these imported as well for sale.

I got them from Memory express in Canada after price matching to n c i x's sister store locally. They're all OOS now tho, and this was early Feb.

And as above, I've been in a few group buys before and this one is by far the worst run one I've come across.
