Politician Pushes For Warning Labels On Video Games

This is just yet another way of loser politicians living off of our tax dollars pretending to do something so that they can come out and claim they actually did something when up for re-election.

FFS no, besides aren't there other things you could be wasting my tax money on, that would be of actual value to society!

They seem to run on the i'm not him platform these days. Obama ran as I'm not Bush, Mcain ran as I'm not Obama. That woman ran as I'm not a witch.

Yeah we really need to have labels clearly stating what age ranges are suitable for certain games...oh wait.

This may have already been suggested. If so I apologize or 2nd the motion....

I think our politicians need warning labels. I can think of a few to get us started :

  • Known to cause excessive spending
  • Known to lie
  • Known to cheat
  • Known to steal
  • Known to abuse power(s)
  • Known to cause job loss

As this will really work? I know kids far more mature than an adult 30 year old still living in their parents basements.

i have an idea how about instead of a small m t or e or ao rating with a box on the back it is a sleeve over the whole game with a little window for the game title... on the back is a discription of the game as per normal and a listing of why it got an M rating

Why? The current ESRB system is fine...it's the parents/grandparents/relatives who are to blame. Nail the relatives, not the voluntary rating system for the reason the kids are able to play games such as BO.

I live in SoCal. When I read this the first thing I thought of was, this state is $26B in debt, and our representatives feel this is a good use of their times. Sacramento is absolutely useless.

"WARNING: Excessive exposure to bad parenting, lack of discipline, and other non-existant family values has been linked to aggressive behavior."

Fixed.

exactly.

I'll just add that they should put warning labels on C-SPAN and News channels. Politics is the stuff that will kill you faster than anything.

That was my pont but since this guy apparently can't see it my suggestion was to make them bigger.
