Hey there [H],

I haven't seen anything on this game on the forums so I thought I would spread the knowledge. Breach will be released today (on Steam in 2 hours). It is made by the same developer that created 6 Days in Fallujah. $15.00 price tag.

This game boasts that it has the most destructible environment in a military FPS. So far from what I have been seeing in trailers is just that. The gameplay does not look too run n' gun for all you COD haters, nor does it look too complicated for all you ARMA haters ;). Check out the videos below! There is a crazy gamer dude in the first video going "WOW' every three seconds lol. I don't think he has ever seen BC2 or any other FPS game.

8 vs 8 is unfortunate especially since others allow for significantly more players. Fully destructible environment may be cool from a technical perspective but in reality all this means is that folks will run around with the equivalent of the Carl Gustav and just blow everything up.

I don't see a reason to switch if one is already a BF2BC (or similar) player.

Looks pretty cool - I really loved when Red Faction came out so many years ago and you could destroy most of the terrain and buildings.

This game looks like there'll be plenty of tactical opportunities for destruction, and not just for the pleasure of blowing up a building! (You can still do that too of course)

Thanks for linking this, didn't know about it.

look's decent but even at 15 bucks i'll pass. the sounds just aren't right, the destructibility while cool just looks bad, and 8v8 just kills the game for me period.

Yeah I totally forgot about the 8v8 part. Oh well, I was only looking to play it as a filler until I can fix BC2 or MOH...

The terrible sounds effects are annoying. At least from what I can tell in the videos.

I will be picking this up on Friday with my next pay cheque hopefully.

Looked interesting. I don't think 8v8 will be too big a deal with the maps are small enough - but then again that implies smaller COD style maps.

Too bad for me it was either this or magicka... I plunked my money on magicka instead.

I have been hearing a lot about magicka, going to have to see what that is all about!

Well I haven't been able to play Breach yet, but I heard that there will be no dedi support...what is that?!? Oh well :(

Just bought it on Steam for 11.99....for 12 bucks I will give it a shot.

Dedicated Server: Host your own dedicated servers if you'd like, complete with remote administration.

Looks like what CSS kind of should have evolved into. Dunno. Ill prolly buy it.

i think im gonna take a chance with this game since steam has it for $11.99. Worth a try especially when ppl boycott a game like MW2 and still buy it for $59.99.

Saw a video of this game on Gametrailers.com. The video highlighted bugs, lag, subpar visuals/audio. Uh, no.

This is from gameservers http://forums.gameservers.com/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=43794

It looks like the developers of this game haven't actually released dedicated server software. Based on what I can see, you need to purchase the game, then start the dedicated server from Steam. It's infeasible for us to go and install Steam onto every machine, then have one of our admins have to log into to start/stop the servers every time someone uses the restart button.

Until there is standalone dedicated server software, I'm afraid this isn't something that we can even consider.

Maybe there will be who knows...Going to try out the game now

Do you guysw think Breach will keep a nice fan base since this is Multiplayer only. Id hate to waste 11 bucks for a game to die in a month

I don't know if Breach will have a fan base to keep it going long term but for right now its new and something else to play. I have wasted $50 on games that died quickly but if I can blast a buddy out through a wall with a RPG then to me it's 12 bucks well spent.

Well so far the game is pretty solid. The main gripes I have are lack od dedicated servers (they're there but too few), no lean, and very few graphics options. As for gameplay it's pretty solid. I am not disapointed in my $12 spent.

There was a game not to long ago that had that issue. Im sure it will be fixed. Gameservers isnt what i would call a good GSP by any means.

Shitty GSP is more like it.

I'm gonna pick this game up and give it a shot. The premise looks like fun

Don't buy the game. Nobody is playing it, maybe pick it up later when it's on sale when things start rolling. The only thing going for it is the cover system really. The devs "cleverly" added ammo caches with a crapload of RPG's, so things usually end up being an RPG spam fest. Snipers are really overpowered naturally because of the cover advantage, the wide open spaces and their powerful guns. So, TDM usually becomes a campfest. I haven't tried all the game modes out though, only TDM and convoy. Convoy is pretty fun, it's pretty much a game mode where team A has to get the convoy from point A to point B and team B has to stop them.

The destruction mechanics go well with the cover system, but somehow it wasn't very thought out because it just doesn't work out for some reason. Nobody really uses it the way it has been hyped up about. I don't reeally notice myself or any other players using C4 to clear out a building or an MG nest used to shoot the floor underneath someone. People would rather run in the building and get a kill or stay behind cover just shooting other ppl out of cover or ultimately just using RPG spams to get kills when ppl are in cover. The cover system is nice, it's pretty cool getting blindfire kills with an M4 when people try to rush up to your cover, it forces them to find an alternate solution or jump cover to cover if they're going to advance. However, the solutions provided in game become too overpowered like RPG's or if there isn't RPG, people just counter cover camp resulting in something reminiscent to WWI trench warfare.

The character models look nice, the weapons look nice, the sounds and feel of the weapons are ok- it basically plays like a $12.00 game would.

It's a console port running on Unreal 3 engine and the same old crappy PhysX, what did you expect ? I got it as a gift from a steam friend but i couldn't find any servers so i just created one and messed around in a map alone, the thing that REALLY bothered me was that the mouse was TOO sensitive even at 05 sensitivity, I'll edit the .ini file sometime and give it another shot, but seriously how can some developers be THAT stupid/clueless when it comes to mouse input ? bioshock had positive acceleration ut3 had too, borderlands, medal of honor etc, IS IT THAT HARD TO HAVE IT DISABLED BY DEFAULT ? HUH ????

Anyone give a dedicated server a shot yet? I run tons of dedicated servers on my server machine here at home (CSS, UT3, COD4, COD4-GunGame, Garrys Mod). I'd like to add this to the list and maybe the people here @ H can play.

Really enjoying this aside from the dedicated server issues. They were released friday. Some type of problem with them where they eventually don't accept connections. Leaves players hanging on infinite loading screens. Fix is to change dedicated server setting from any to off. Or at least it makes it more likely to get into a game. For the game, keep in mind it is a first generation game. CoD and BF are in their 5th or 6th generation and they also have a huge dev team.

^ Dedicated server requires DirectX and PhysX installed. As i host all my servers in VM's this wont work :(
