I have an Asus Maximus 3 Formula mobo. It comes with that add-on PCI-E 1x card that is supposed to be a SupremeFX X-Fi discrete Audio Card.
I also have my old sound card which is a PCI Creative Labs X-Fi Fatality. This is the original X-Fi Fatality, not one of the newer models.

My question is now that I am getting my Ultrasone PROline 550 for X-Mas, which one of these sound cards would be best to use?
I will use my cans for 99% gaming. I don't listen to music or watch movies at all on my PC.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Thx, and Happy Holidays to you all.

I would recommend using the PCI X-Fi Fatality. According to the Asus website, the SupremeFX only supports EAX 4.0 which indicates that it is not a true hardware X-Fi.

That is why I said in my post "supposed to be" an X-Fi.
I thought I had heard or read something along the lines of what you are talking about I just wasn't sure.
Thanks for helping me out.
I hope you have a great holiday season.
