Sennheiser HD 202 Headphones - $18

These are great for 18 bucks. Sound pretty good and quite comfy.

I'm wearing these right now, and these sound very good, are comfortable, and do a good job at muffling environmental noise even when the sound is off. I almost feel like ordering a second pair.

They are $.50 or so cheaper on buy.com if you want to save $.50

2 questions, are they a around the ear headphone or on the ear, and how do they compare to the the HD201s ?

I need a new pair of headphones in the worst kind of way. Yeah, they would be a downgrade from my HD485s, but these things don't fit tight on my head anymore, and ive had to resoder the wires onto the drivers + make a new port for the wire to the headphone jack since these things have been abused to the core for 6 years.

If they're the same size as the HD212s, they're probably on-the-ear for most people.

201 - Bass light but sounds good for the price
202 - very bass heavy, somewhat muddy at time

Both would be a downgrade from the 485. Plus the 485 was open, the 2xx line are closed headphones.

I've said for nearly what... 7 years now, the 202s are the best sub-25 dollar headphones money can buy. If anyone has any arguments to that, I'll be pleased to hear it.

Sennheiser HD201
Koss KSC75
Koss 60-ohm headphones in general really
JVC HARX700 at the $30 mark

Probably some others out there...

Never used the JVC but I totally disagree about anything KOSS I've owned quite a few including the KSC75 and they're awful. I have a set of HD201 and the 202 (which came from the DJ202) simply has better sound.

The mounting style, yes they are, they were always falling off my ears, they do sound good though.

I can see where you're coming from. The mounting leaves a bit to be desired but you can adjust them for a perfect fit. Mine never fall off and in fact are one of the most comfortable headphones I've used. I can wear them for hours on end without any discomfort and the best part is they don't mess up my hair like over the head headphones do.

I can say with confidence the KSC75's are the best sub $50 headphones on the market in terms of pure sound quality.

The Koss 60-ohm headphones sound great when they're amped. I remember some people on Head-Fi using them with the Ray Samuels SR-71 amp.

Comfortable Headphones.

Not bad, about $2 cheaper than the price they had all year. These are popular and the brand is becoming very popular but i picked up the Sony's comparison model when headphone shopping. It was about $5 cheaper too

I found the awesomeeeee $15 (free s/h) deal by Sony though :D and I do not think anyone can match the quality of the MDR-V150 for music/PC/mp3 use. The only single problem I have with the Sony pair is when I turn it up REALLY LOUD, its basically its own speaker system. It sounds very good for $15 turned all the way up on my fav mp3s (not the best for libraries and jammin to music :D ) -- but this is definitely best "bang for the buck" for home and public use $15 headphones that I have ever used

A buddy of mine has been looking for a cheap pair of headphones to wear at work. These may just be what he's looking for.

Woot! Came home from work an hour ago and these babies were already here. Listening to some MGMT and I like them so far.

Mine came today...they really do sound amazing! They're a little bit tight on my head though, and I've never been told I have a big head...at least not literally.

They sort of look like my EH350's. Bought a pair the other day, still waiting on them in the mail. I hope they sound pretty good.
