IP KVM direct to a laptop?

Hey everyone,
Looking for a bit more input into this from people who have some experience in IP KVM.

Basic story is I am trying to cut down my bag for work as a tech. And sadly a monitor mouse and keyboard just isn't practical, especially when I'm on foot/public transport most of the time. So I have been looking into a solution to use my laptop as the KVM for some servers that don't have any attached.

The search has led me to various KVM to USB options, or some rather expensive things. So while on the old ebay I came across this HP Interface that takes everything to ethernet, but is clearly designed for a larger IP-KVM system with a switch etc.

However does anyone know if this would work on a laptop without the switch?
Or something that would that is relatively cheap?

Unfortunately that cable won't work for what you want it to do. It requres a central KVM to connect to.

You are basically looking for a 1 server IP KVM.
