Can you watch blu-ray movies with samsung 305t monitor? I have read that this monitor doesn´t have hdcp protection so watching high definition content is not possible. Is there anyway to enable hdcp on this monitor? Is it a good monitor for pc gaming?

Maybe a later revision of it had HDCP?

Anyway, you can watch bluray movies in full resolution even on monitors without HDCP.
Check out www.slysoft.com

They also have discounts every now and then, and obviously they had one right now :)
"Until Sunday, July 25 2010 we offer a 20% discount on all products – except upgrades and t-shirts."

I got this monitor for $500. Works great for PC games and 1080p movies played through the computer.

I have no complaints with this monitor.

Some might complain about no hdmi or hdcp but I don't need them.

Thanks for the answers.:) I´m not sure if I want to get a new program just to play blu-rays. What about Power dvd 9.0. It came with my blu-ray drive and I would like to use it to play blu-rays if possible.
I checked that the 305t+ model has the HDCP but I don´t have that model available here. Should I go for the 305t over Hp Lp 3065? The Hp has HDCP, but is the samsung better panel than Hp?

stevedave: How do you watch blu-rays with it (if you do)?

Where did you get it for 500$?

I want a 305t, but only Dell USA seems to sell them for 1400$, once you add tax and duty (going to Canada) it becomes a total waste.

I would recommend the HP lp3065 IMHO. My samsung 305T+ crapped out after about 2 years of using it. I had the vertical pinstrip issue has most owners did of this monitor seems to be a common problem and from what I have been reading samsung stopped making it.

Right now I'm looking for another 30" maybe the Dell 3007wfp-hc since I do alot of photography.

Yes the 305T has a very nice screen, there is piratically no antiglare coating that you can see against a white background its very clean and clear blacklight uniformity is good no black-light bleed, but for this build quality I will stay away.

I took a risk with a site I have never heard of Tting.com on a refurbished one. Monitor came seemingly brand new it just slants a little to the left so i had to stick a penny under one side of the monitor stand, I'm sure there are more classy ways to fix it but what ever works.

It is now 699.99 on the site which is about standard price for a refurbished 305t not a super deal like 499.9 was, I am not able to spend 1000+ bucks on a monitor so I had to literally shop around for a year to find one within budget (stupid wife hogging all the moneys).

Be careful with blu-ray. If your monitor supports hdcp it may only support it at 1080p so you will have to lower your resolution to 1080p, if your monitor doesn't support hdcp than you will have to find a program that allows you to play blu-rays without hdcp. I know you can rip them with anydvd but I'm not sure if there is one that will straight off play them if you don't have hdcp.
