We here at HardOCP would like to wish everyone a safe and happy Independence Day while celebrating America’s 234th. Go out and grill, swim, have a beer, and light some fireworks in the name of our great nation.

Their purpose: to light Mount Hood's summit with a fireworks blast visible in Portland, 51 miles away.

Most importantly, a big thank you for all our troops, vets, and fallen heroes who've kept us free for the past 234 years. :)

Let's remember that the colonies seceded from the crown, and that secession isn't wrong--even when done by people who have a system you don't like.

eeyrjmr's a Brit. What did you expect when it comes to a holiday based on kicking them out of this country? lol

Seriously though, England's our ally, so thank you, the rest of England, for standing with us to repel invaders and terrorists everywhere. It was a good game back in the 1770's though.
