Is 450watts enough for this set up?

I'm looking at two corsair PSU's.
First one is the CX400 and the other is the 450VX
Is the CX400 any good? It's $20 less than the 450VX ($80)

Components are:
Intel i3 530 CPU (looking to OC this to 4ghz or low 4's)
DDR3-1600 Ripjaws (CL7D-4GBRM)
ASUS P7H55-M Pro
Nvidia 7600GT (yea yea I know, it's ancient)
320GB SATA drive
DVDRW drive
and a buncha USB stuff, external harddrives, mouse/kb

I have an older Fortron AX450 but the fan's making weird noises (goes away if i tap on the PSU box near the fan). Not sure if it's even "efficient" anymore.

The 400w Corsair would be more than sufficient. You'll probably wind up using about 150w with that setup.
 
CX400 is plenty of power, it would even power a mid-range graphics card should you decide to upgrade. You can get even more powerful cards if you go with AMD's HD5xxx series, since they are very power efficient. You can probably power a HD5850 with the CX400, might be pushing it a bit, but it'll handle it.
 
150watts? really? is that on idle only? '

yea, i wont be getting any of the 5850's. probably something cheaper. like 5750 or 9800GT (seen some for around $60). I play CS:Source only

I'm driving plenty more with plenty less...

the CX 400W is a good choice. If you plan on upgrading that not-so-ancient video card any time soon (as I've said before, this forum has an understandable obsession with the latest, but the 7600 was a nice card), you might look into something with a little more umph.

You could also get this instead of the VX 450W... I haven't seen any reviews of it but Jonny Mendoza wouldn't let em release a bad unit even if it cost him his job (which, with the way BFG's going, it might... I'm still bummed about that news):

thanks guys! i picked up the 400cx for $53. buying everything locally and I'm in Canada also so that $30 400cx would have been sweet, but no go :(

I looked for the BFG here but not available. would have to get it shipped.
