How many x-58 have the x-fi included.

So far , I only know of Asus rampage extreme 2. Are there others out there?
Are they only "extreme" edition mb? Any help appreciated.

It's not a real X-fi card, or at least not the good ones with EAX 5.0 if that's what you are thinking.

Yeah it's more of a gimmick as far as I've seen. A good dedicated soundcard is more worthwhile unless you are looking for basics (which x58 isn't really).

They are passive X-Fi cards, basically a riser card to reduce the MoBo noise. They are good but not excellent. My choice (after testing them all with opinion from Pro sound engineer ) is the Asus Xonar D2X. I can actually tell the difference between punch and bass and the sound is clean and clear, much better than the riser card. However if you are using low cost speakers or headphones it makes no diff.

Yeah the golden rule with audio purchases (and lots of things in general) is that you are limited by your weakest component. Pairing audiophile headphones with onboard audio is pointless, and vice-versa.

Foxconn Bloodrage X58 has a gimmicky X-fi card. Completely worthless though, as software support for it ceases to exist. There's no working driver for Win7 and no plans to release one.

As an AT user myself, have to agree - amazing what a decent pair of h/phones can do with an err decently made? s/card..same with 5.1 if you have it...I have a full blown Creative x-fi, compared to the Forte(same card just built by Auzen), the xfi sounds like a gazoo(??) @times when playing loud music...the Forte otoh , sounds pretty good - not perfect but way cleaner...
having said, if you want the sound more for music, go with the Xonar,..if games, xfi..my 2c on mobo sound...GL!!!
