LCD works for 2-3 sec then goes dark

This is the issue, it was doing this a couple weeks back but it kicked in when I turned it on eventually and Ive kept the monitor on since...because it was working fine.

So last night I had to actually disconnect the power from my machine/monitor so I had to reboot.

The monitor will show a picture for 1-2 seconds then fade so dark that anything is barely visible.

I tried a different atx cable and I get a "Semi-pretty-much" bright picture for maybe 10 seconds then it goes back.

Is the screen f*cked? I really need it right now (Im on my laptop)

Your backlight inverter is probably gone. It will need to be repaired/replaced. You could try opening it up and seeing if it's a lose connection or broken wire, but this is a common failure for LCD displays and usually requires some parts replacement.

Where would you recommend I get it fixed/replaced?

I guessing it may cost upwards of 100 or more to fix this. May be better to just get a new monitor. You out of warranty?

I bought it maybe two years ago.
