This is a VERY interesting package for anyone not having many Valve games yet (all of you 7 people, yes, i mean you).

For $99 you get Every Valve Game, INLCUDING the new Left 4 Dead 2, which retails around $40 right now. That means you get all the other valve games together for only $60, an easy purchase if you don't have many of the games yet.....

If anyone just bought their first PC ever, this is a must buy...

I don't think it's a slip-up...

But christmas is coming up and my brother is constantly using my account, so I think this might make sense :D

And I doubt it's an error, the complete pack has always been a good deal if you don't own any previous games.

There's also a sale today, 4-pack of L4D2 is $28.25 ea ... single is $37.50

very good deal, surprisingly enough though I have all those games except condition zero and audiosurf. Definitely a must buy for someone new with Valve games.

hmm I just seached all over for it, and checked games that were included in it, for instance if you searched l4d before, it would show you all available packages containing the game, the complete pack no longer shows up like this.

Shows up when I search... looking at the L4D2 page right now...

Yeah the 4-pack beats the Gamestop deal by $3 or more after tax. I'm surprised there's not a ton of GBs showing up right now tbh...

You want a good deal on a video card?!
SCREW THE VIDEO CARD < GET THE GAMES > !!!!

In a sense you're paying $100 for L4D2. Look at it this way, all those other games have made their money back 100x over, L4D2 is the only real "new" game.

Huh? You mean it's Valve's way of making more money out of L4D2? I guess... if people are actually going for the complete pack over just a single copy of L4D2... my brother plays TF2 and CS:S and other games along there so it makes sense to get a copy for him.

No I think he means it's Valve's way of making near 100% profit off their older games.

lol this is the most accurate way to describe this that i can imagine :p
Initially i thought 'man, what a deal for all these games ... i already have them, but maybe i'll gift them or have a 2nd use for them later on'

Then I look over in the closet, see how many boxes of games I have saturated in dust, and then visualize myself paying $100 for a 2nd set of dusty boxes ....

A near miss ... maybe next time Valve :)

So what? More money for them to put into production of new games for us to play.

If developers don't make money, we'll have nothing to do with these nice expensive rigs. ;)

Well not exactly... people are still buying copies of CS 1.6, Source, and TF2... it's not like people stopped buying those.

I don't think people really bought games like DMC or Ricochet, but still ;)

I do see what you're saying though, wasn't really clear the first time around... The complete pack only makes sense for people who don't own any of these games / never played them before.

Oddly enough, I haven't seen jack diddly on any video cards this black friday. Worst BF ever for video card sales so far, unless I'm missing something ...

Edit: Wow. I just looked at newegg's holiday sales on video cards. They absolutely SUCK.

You're not going to either. Limited supply + no competition = high prices.

I know. I really think some intentional fixing/screwing is going on hear. nVidia already admittedly planned on low yields and manufacturing numbers leading up to this holiday season, and the yields on the new ATI 5000's aren't quite what they wanted, or at least what they say they wanted ... I tend to half believe ATI on this round. Nevertheless, I think EOL'ing the excellent and well-priced 4000 series cards was done quite prematurely. This really really really sucks.

that isnt true, i have about 3 friends who only own CS:S but want to play TF2, l4d 1 and 2, $100 for 3 games you will get a lot of play time on, not to mention another friend who doesnt have any of the valve games, for some this is an awsome deal, for most, like me, it isnt worth anything as i already own Tf2, L4D and L4D2

looking at it from valve's point of view, yes. my little brother would shit bricks over this package though, he always asks me to find these games. trying to put it all together myself, i would never do. so to me, this will be the perfect xmas gift.

I'd say it's an ok deal, even if you don't own a valve game. What's on there that you'll really play?

L4D (a stretch now anyway)
L4D2
CS:S
TF2
Portal
HL2
Episode 1&2

You get all of that for $100. Is anyone really going to fire up the HL1 mods when they have the identical HL2 mods? Doubtful. Some of the above games should be $10 by now anyway.

You could probably do better by selecting the games you want and waiting for valve to make them $10 on a weekend deal.

I was about to snag the LucasArts pack 'til i realized the games I was most likely to ever bother played at regular price only came to $50, and would be cheaper when another sale occurs... (I think D2D had 'em all for $20 a few days ago anyway....)
