Would anyone ever switch to Bing for searching?

I can't imagine ever doing so at the moment, but I just checked out the site recently, and it seems to be coming along nicely.

The main reason I switched to google from altavista so many years ago was that it game more accurate results. That and it was less heavy on my system at the time for dial up and took less time to load.

Bandwidth and performance is no longer an issue, and the results from bings search seem decent. I have not tried an exhaustive test to see which performs better, but even if bing did perform better, I am so used to google that switching would be unlikely.

I wish I was better than that. I wish I had a greater capacity to go on the merits of things and not stick to ID and familiarity. But there it is. It is sad too, because they really are trying hard to make it better and more user friendly, if you try and search for videos for example, simply hovering over a video will start it playing as a preview. Not sure how useful that is, but it is an example of people trying to make something better, but would that even matter?

So what about you all? Could you possibly see yourself using bing instead of google as a main search site? What would it take to turn you? Or would nothing do?

take the ipod shuffle vs the sansa clip....

I fear that is the fate of bing, even if it ever got to clip technical superiority, people do not always go by merits.

Never used it, not had a need.
I'm happy with google for everything tbh and I use it quite a bit.

Bing's useful for video searches. Specifically those of the racier variety.

I swapped to Bing to my primary when it first came out because I liked its results more then Google's. Google has since updated their own search so while Bing is my primary Google still gets used because they do act differently and with some searches Google is better and with others Bing is better.

Maybe this works with bing as well, but I love that I can do things in google like

6000000 VND to USD

100 F to C

1024*32

etc - so useful.

I use Bing for image searches sometimes because it makes it a little easier to get 'similar images'. That's about it. Maybe also for Microsoft KB articles.

I tried Bing once for hockey information. It didn't find the information I was looking for. I go back to google.
