Newegg has the 5870 in stock! $379.99 + Shipping

THIS

that was a rumor, remember there is another card by the name of hd 5850 which will be 299

well I work there at frys, they will be priced at 399 at the regular retail price, but what happens is if they go down in price after the initial retail price than it usually takes them a month longer to reduce the price, it all depends on the manufacturer, in retail stores the manufacturers don't drop the price that fast. if you look at it the hd 4870's are still kinda overpriced but in another month or two they will go down to current online prices, so if you walked in tomorrow and they had it, it will be 399.

$379? That's actually a good price from Newegg. When will the cards come in though? Early October or can we buy one tomorrow?

I think we're seeing some strange pricing. AFAIK the MSRPs on both the 5850s and 5870s haven't shifted, but 5870s on Newegg and some on ZZF are going for $379 for some reason, while all of the 5850s on ZZF are $259 rather than $299 which is likely the difference between it being highly competitive with the GTX 285 and basically the card to get. This COULD just be out of stock prices that don't apply though, which will rise back up to MSRP when more cards come in.

I've never heard of release day card releases where the prices shift DOWNwards, then again I only really got back to this stuff back in 2007, so...

$259 for a 5850 is an outstanding price considering it kicks the 285's tailpipe.

Anandtech is claiming that $379 and $259 are MSRP

In that case, bring on the MIRs and instant rebates! More competitive pricing for the win. :D

Yeah, and some other sites are claiming the original MSRPs, so all we're getting is confusion I guess, lol.

But assuming it's true, the 5850 at $259 is going to be a great deal you know, basically the new...4850. :p

Well, a higher end version of it anyway for now. :)

hmm, Techreport is now saying $259 for the 5850 as well.

I cant find anywhere to order.... :(

they all auto-notify or something....

looking forward to either XFX or ASUS, maybe Gigabyte...

anyone finds one that I can buy?

Keep hunting. They are out there. Prices anywhere from $379-399. It's harder to find a particular brand though.

NCIXUS still shows the powercolor 5870 in stock...$411 + was about $14 fedex shipping for me.

Are the NCIXUS stock numbers right? I'm not seeing any stock changes and I know that all of the forums are mentioning that they have active listings.

There was 0 pieces delivered to my country, so be happy at least some of you got it. I had no chance at all, and according to my supplier i can get my 5870 from 2nd! shipment to my country - which is going to be at end of october (first one will be at start of october).

I think ATI underestimated the non-OEM needs and they did a stupid decision with their Dell deal.

I've seen the page inventory change throughout the day on NCIXUS...I don't think that "20 in the warehouse" stock is accurate though.

Either way, price just dropped to $387 + 10 shipping...I pulled the trigger!

my ATI 4870 x2 is holding its ground just fine to the 5870 , hmmmm let the first ones come out and work the glitches out , Ill get a pair and crossfire em later on , hopefully get a decent price for my x4870 x2

^ Thanks - ordered with next day shipping for less than I'd pay at Microcenter w/ tax.
