PC World has a gallery of notorious and not-so-notorious failures by Apple and if you flip through it, you’ll notice a common theme. PeRhaps, It Can bE detected easily in this post. What in the Sam Hill were the Apple leaders thinking with some of these decisions?

But deep in the annals of Apple history are a number of products that were, put simply, commercial flops. With all eyes now focusing on the potential release of an Apple tablet, it might be a good time to take a look back at some of Apple's product disasters.

price+ retarded features. but yes mostly price. then again, the butt sniffing people that still buy macs do so because their parents bought it, they want to be a hipster... or they need it for art/design. artists tend to pay alot for their software, and it fits them. the rest, do it for the price lol.

I got my MacBook at some heavily discounted student pricing. That, and the fact that it was a discontinued model made for a pretty compelling price point.

Granted, that's nowhere near what Apple is expecting your average consumer to spend, but it worked out in my favor.

It's a nice little machine.

Smug users were their biggest mistake. Thanks for polarizing the computer market as much as you did Apple with your retarded and blatantly false "Mac vs. PC" ads.

I don't think it was price. There's plenty of people out there that are still paying too much...

Nay I think it was mostly retarded features. Apple just hit a luck charm with the iPod...

In the earlier days, price was VERY much an issue. Even now, id love to have an Iphone, but all those features add up to some serious change per month.

Sheesh, it's $130/month...

When I had the same thing on Sprint SERO for $40/month.

Yknow... OUTSIDE of the internet, apple stores and other apple events...

I've never *actually* met a snooty Apple user. 90% of mac brandishers are typically technology uninclined college students.

There are just as many Zealots - for just about ANY tech company - in the places listed above.

I'm using one right now and I'm not sure the latest Mac mice are any better than the hockey pucks. Not a fan of the aluminum keyboard either, at least compared to a nice, full one.

I wonder how many people took them from the landfills to sell for dirt cheap :D

Altho they are doing better now.. still Price per hardware does not make sense.

I have. Know some so bad that they think Windows running under bootcamp is far more secure than it running on "normal" pc hardware as Apple hardware is more secure than other hardware.

Apple failures: overpricing and making products clearly designed for homosexuals.

Apple's mice have pretty much always been terrible. Mighty Mouse isn't really an exception. Apple doesn't seem to know when not to try and innovate on something that works well already (two independent buttons).

As for the keyboards, I'm a big fan of 'em. They take a little getting used to, but my speed's up a bit, so it's tough to complain. They're fairly heavy as well, which means they don't go sliding around as easily as plastic keyboards and they generally feel a bit more solid.

Yeah if you work with laptops a lot, you can get used to the Apple keyboards pretty quickly.

But I also love my Logitech G15 keyboard. It feels similar to my old IBM keyboard.

For years I've been using my ancient IBM keyboard. I love those older style mechanical keyboards with the taller keys and that goes clackity click when typing :-D

I've been using them for over a decade until a couple keys decided not to work anymore. They last forever.

The aluminum keyboard is a step up from some of the older ones, and it's certainly better than some laptop keyboards, but the IBM M2s will always be king.

Its a bit insane. They have some of the best keyboards out there, IMO the absolute best notebook trackpad ever, and the absolute worst mouse in history. Even the Mighty Mouse which has one good thing with the little trackball on top is otherwise terrible. I've always chucked those Apple mice that were included in the box and gone with either a Microsoft, Logitech, or Creative mouse (currently using the Fatality; stupid branding aside I love the old Logitech Wingman shape and the ring finger button).

They were solid keyboards and everything, but sheesh, the $10 ones that come from Dell do the job just fine...

I really like this quote :p

Like all of KeyTronic's Lifetime products, the LT Classic keyboard is warranted for life. Under normal usage, if the Lifetime Classic ever fails, the company will repair or replace it for free. This warranty makes the LT Classic's already low list price seem even smaller because it's the last $40 you'll ever spend for a keyboard.

I didn't like the keytronic KB, i prefer flat/ thin keyboards over the curved KT's- Sold it with some computer I had.
