Google Street View Image of the Day

Hah, nice. I know Laguna Seca by heart from the Gran Turismo series. It's one of my fav tracks.

I want to know what the Google car was since it was keeping up with that Porshe GT3 and Vette, lol.

That is really funny, but what's most amusing is how recognizable a single bend in a road can be.

One day I'll drive on that track... just to say I did it.

Yeah, knew what it was the instant the photo popped up.... GG's Gran Tourismo.

Oh man I played this track so many times over and over and that bend is truly the killer of any race. :)

Thats pretty cool Lols

How did he manage to hold the camera going into that turn!??

I think the whole thing is a setup. Those two people on the side of the road gives it away. It's not remotely safe to stand out there especially on a turn that gamers recognizes.

Did google use a Bugatti?

The veyron is not the best handling car...looks like this was taken right before the corkscrew. Anyone notice the Porsche Cayenne Safety Car followed by the Mazda MZ-R LMP2 and the GT1 Corvette C6-R side-by-side with Bergmeister's Flying Lizards # 45 997 GT3 RSR (GT2). Behind the camera car, it looks like Marco Werner in his Audi R10 is side-by-side with an Patrón Highcroft Racing ARX-01.

Was going to call out laguna seca too and I didn't know it from Gran Turismo, I use to live right next to it. Well pretty close.

that kinda sounds like the guy who wrote he knew how kissing worked because he read about it on wikipedia... certainly, GT tracks are closer to reality than wikipedia kissing instructions, but it just reminded me of that ;)

theres a yellow flag

if you go to the street view page you can actually click forward through the turn, and spin around and look at the chase cars

they def put a streetview camera on the roof of a car during the practice run - there is no way someone could have taken those otherwise, and no way its on camera footage either since there is the full 360

if you "back up" to the start and look east you can see the SV camera shadow - sweet!

Love googles sense of humor, and yeah lulz at all you video game experts. Go check out an event at the track in person.

Greatings to a fellow Monterey county resident. well, that's not entirely true. I was born and grew up in the Salinas valley and now live in San Jose area. But, still not far off at all.

Been to the track a time or 2 I instantly recognized the track too

If I'm not mistaken, that is the entry into the cork-screw at Laguna Seca.

Same here, but iRacing :)
